Help With Additional Daytime Running Lights

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by grant brooks, Feb 2, 2020.

  1. I doubt if it will be possible to wire the Denali lights into the same loom as the Ducati accessory fog/aux/driving lights, as they are controlled via the CANbus. I could be wrong and I'm sure your Ducati dealer will be able to give a definitive answer :) Regarding the auto-dimming feature, I think the Denali lights will need to be wired separately using the special Denali DataDim module taking a feed from the high beam circuit. Let us know how you get on as it sounds like an interesting setup, by the way where are mounting the Denali lights?

  2. Hi and thanks for your reply, would the DataDim work with Ducati? I’m going to have them installed on the fork fender using a bracket and a spacer and attached via the factory bolt recess...

  3. I've no idea if the Denali DataDim will work with Ducati high beam wiring. It would worth trying to get it all working together with the Denali lights hooked into the Ducati aux lights and the DataDim unit hooked into the high beam circuit. If it all works as advertised, then it would be a good result. If that fails, try the Denali lights on a dedicated circuit (which could be wired off the Sat Nav or power outlet socket - they share the same 10A circuit along with the sockets under the pillion seat) and the DataDim unit hooked into the high beam circuit. If all else fails, you'd have to revert to a Denali 3 position switch to control the lights. It might be worth checking out the Denali CANsmart module.

  4. Had some side lights fitted inline with my indicators, because of my riding style.

And I then added a couple of lunasee pro-1000 kits onto the wheels for night riding.

Which dealership is fitting them? OYB (On Yer Bike) did mine in no-time at all, but I did supply the harness.
