You could mix it up and go from Portsmouth then come back in at lymington or a city break in the exotic Southampton lol
"Ever been on a cruise" : No but if anyone does see me walking up the gangplank then please before i get on, take me out with a scoped rifle...
Noob’s internet bill is going to be higher than the cost of the cruise and drinks combined My dad and his girlf went on a med cruise recently but they lost two days of it due to rescuing a load of immigrants on a boat. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/news/10006487/cruise-ship-rescue-migrants-dingy/amp/
Yeh but it’s one rule for one here and one for another... we have to put up with all this brexit nonsense all day on here and Ming the merciless does his fair share of brexit antagonising I’ve noticed
So avoiding the political. Please can we get back to the Cruise Ship issue. Anyone here done a sample Cruise... The sort of 3-5 night jobbie with a flight out to a stop..... I don't want to sign up to 10-20 days only to find I'm trying to work out how the lifeboat releases work after less than 24 hours.
Have you tried some of the nordic cruises for a long weekend or 5 days. I wonder how many say they'd love a cruise but first time realise the waves are not for them..not in the winter though
I did a 7 day cruise around the Caribbean a long time ago. It was great, like staying in a 5 star hotel. All the food & drink you wanted, non-stop. It was full of oldies though. Well I was 28 at the time & everyone else was 30 years older. It’d be a bit different mow. Go for it. It doesn’t get rough, it spills the G&T and the punters don’t like that.
Never done one, and probably never will. Someone in the office at work has done many: Caribbean / Med / South America but is looking at the Baltic ones which I would choose if ever forced into it. Tallinn, St Petersburg etc When pulling into Tallinn I would be able to see an exes Penthouse, always regretted letting that one go
Check seasonal weather for your prefered destination when you eventually decide https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2417734-best-weather-month-for-asia-cruise-please/
Caribbean ones are mostly island hopping, cruise through the night, moor up in the morning, get mobbed by locals trying to extort your money when you get off, go on a day trip or mooch around, back on board at night. You could easily do a short 5 or 7 day cruise around the Caribbean.
Never done one but we have a friend who loves them but she blankly refuses to sail from the UK, preferring to fly to the med and catch the boat/ship from there. She says it’s because if you sail from the UK it’s a boat full of UK families who treat the whole thing like a 24hrs crèche dumping their unruly kids like “where can they go, it’s a boat” while they get pissed in the bar all day. Apparently the Europeans are far more family orientated and so their kids are better behaved?
