  1. agree, and they are all out there for the finding, overlooked or forgotten. David H. heavily sampled that on the "Rodney Yates" track below it. :upyeah:

  3. The David Holmes bit ^^^ reminded me of something I discovered a day or two ago:

I love this track by The Prodigy, based on a Mannfred Mann composition:

But many others have plundered it before. From 1971, a band called Trifle:

  4. certainly popular, it's good that quality/uniqueness gets recognised eventually.

  6. Great. I'll now be busy back-filling my Mannfred Mann collection (which was sparse).

Horns for bopping and busting heads, guitars for kicking back. Horses for courses.

  12. I went to see Julian Cope last week, never really bought much of his stuff but seeing him live was a real treat, just him and a twelve string guitar, we had a real insight to the very talented songwriter he truly is.
He did all their hits except Reward, very funny too.
Amazed by how many songs we knew, barking mad but brilliant, a real joy.

  13. Had it on vinyl, updated it with the CD version only to find one of the original tracks, Quran, had been replaced. I was cross.

A bit of research showed me that that Eno had been pressured to remove the missing track out of "cultural sensitivity". If I recall correctly, some incident (may even have been 9/11) led Eno to saying "feck it" and restoring the track "Quran" in a re-release, which then featured all eleven tracks (the original vinyl playlist plus the CD replacement track).

  14. Whoa. I like this!

  15. Wow, never knew any of that, nice one.

  16. I often reach for a bit of David Sylvian, Secrets from the Beehive, hauntingly beautiful, play it loud on your own.
