ive had a 2002 748s ... Then a 2007 - 1098 and three weeks ago i traded the 1098 against my new red lady - 1199 Panigale
Have to post a pic of my lovely 748R that I swapped for my current 848. Love the 848 but should never have sold the 748R, it was the cleanest I have ever seen with every extra.
What a beautiful machine I used to hate Ducati purely based on their reputation for shoddy electrics and I hated those square lights on the back, and the more 916 variants I see the more I want one!! That is pure sex on rims.
I done exactly that back in 2004, I sold my 2003 Baby R after 8 years of regret I was lucky to find a Mint low mileage ornament that lived in someone's conservatory. The best bike I have ever owned hence my search to acquire another
999/1098 Hybrid (blueprinted) - ducati performance slipper clutch conversion, nemesis ecu, termigs, ohlins etc etc She's by no means perfect although mechanically it's superb and she does go ever so well, the sound truly is hypnotic! Hopefully we will get on famously and I can then treat her to a refurb of the paint
that is fantastic. did the 1098 take much fitting did you have to use the 1098 loom or graft the 999 kit on.
I'd like to say "i built it" but i didn't.... One of the chaps from JHP built it for the original owner. The conversion is an absolute nightmare though... rear cylinder manifold clouts the shock so that required manufacturing, the tank has had a new base fabricated to accommodate the 1098's airbox, airtubes are also a hybrid of 999 and 1098 items. I think? its a 999 loom as she still has the original dash but of course uses the 1098 ecu albeit a nemesis item, in fairness I've not really got to grips with it yet but when it comes time for a strip down i'll know ALL her secrets. I'ts great learning about the thing though!
