Fury has weighed in at 19.5 stone, it think that might have an effect as the fight goes on (as in he tires quicker than the lighter Wilder).
Rings walks at 4am apparently. I'll go to bed as per normal and download it in the morning, can't miss that much beauty sleep!
Christ, that's a lot. I didn't think he looked too fit in the first one... Yep, he'll get sparked... He just can't leave those crisps alone...
2018 Wilder 212 1⁄2 lbs Fury 256 1⁄2 lbs 2020 Wilder 231 lbs Fury 273 lbs So they are both heavier than last time, with a similar weight difference to the previous fight. Interestingly I saw this in the Torygraph. "Wilder-Fury II is almost certain to lead to a third bout after their sensational first world heavyweight title fight in Los Angeles was scored a draw. Bob Arum, the American promoter who is in London to publicise the Feb 22 contest, says: “The deal is that the loser of the fight can ask for a third fight, and he gets 40 per cent to the winner’s 60 per cent. So if Wilder loses the fight, he doesn’t necessarily have to ask for a rematch.” But if the loser demands a rematch the winner is obliged to say yes. So you'd expect the winner to fight Joshua next, and if he wins, the loser of this then has a shot!
Wow! I must say I didn't expect that! Fury simply blew Wilder away, end of. And I'm delighted for the big nutter
Viva the Gypsy King! Looking at that level of form & power, he must be favorite to take all the crowns
Tyson Fury said he expected Deontay Wilder to request a third fight after he ended the American's five-year reign as WBC heavyweight world champion in Las Vegas. Wilder has 30 days to ask for a rematch as part of the contract. The previously undefeated Wilder was floored twice before his corner threw in the towel, but the Briton said: "I know he is a warrior and I'll be waiting." https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/51602618
But it was unexpectedly one sided. I'm not sure either both fighters or the paying public will have an appetite for a 3rd fight. If it had been close, then yes. But Fury hammered him. And based on what I've seen so far, he'll hammer him again. That said, you can never write off a puncher, especially in the heavyweight division. Fury v Joshua is the holy grail fight now. But will the money men line that one up anytime soon? Hmmm, we'll see.
The money issue can be a problem. If Joshuas guys -or Fury's- are not confident of a win they are far better off financially fighting others for big purses as world champions. Hopefully that won't be the case but...
I'd say Joshua got found out when he got flattened by the fat Mexican. Ok, he boxed boring and won the dull rematch but I reckon Ruiz Jr couldn't be arsed with the circus that goes with the big time. He took his money and ran. Fair play to him. Tbh I'd watched little of Fury until he fought Klitsco. But from what I've seen of him since I'd say he's got the measure of Joshua. Interesting times ahead. Will Fury hold it together? He's a bit of a fruitcake after all
Wow, i was wrong the man overhauled him nicely, those extra pounds really paid dividends. He needs to carry on his present lifestyle now, have a bender now and again and be his own man, his reign at the top will not last long.
Not so sure about the Joshua thoughts; he transformed himself in his last fight. Kinda like Fury did last night. They both had huge changes in weight and both fought in totally different styles to what we have seen before... Fury is definitely a fruitcake though, thats for certain. PS the fat bloke got lucky against Joshua the first time. It happens.
Nah, Ruiz Jr smacked him all over the place. Decked him 3 times. Joshua's too robotic, gasses out too easily as well.... He was lucky to beat a retiring Klitsco too. Don't rate him. I reckon Daniel Debois would banjo Joshua. Joshua's a circus. Loads of commercial interest. Looks nice with his big muscles and says the right things. Just don't mention his drug dealing and prison time.
