Fury V Wilder Ii

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Mary Hinge, Feb 22, 2020.

  1. Wilder put Fury down in the 6th and the 12th last fight in '18 but it didn't seem to have made much difference last night.

  2. Joshua's camp seem keen!

"Meanwhile Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn is pushing for a unification fight this year against Fury. Joshua holds the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO titles.

Hearn said on TalkSport: "What a time for British boxing. To have one world heavyweight champion would be great but to have two with all the belts, we will never see it again.

"I have said and I will make this clear, we have to make this fight happen. We will never get the chance for two Brits to fight for an undisputed heavyweight world championship".

Tyson seems keen too. her's a pic taken at last nights fight of him removing his gum sheild. Joshua has been spending time in Nigeria lately...

  4. So is Fury a Hero or Villain?

I am coming round to the Hero. Made a few mistakes, put his hands up, got his head down, worked away, made his mark.

does he still have those backward views that got him into trouble?

  5. whilst I admire his boxing a leopard never changes its spots

  6. He's a villain that can walk the walk, a true pikey that we chose to support. He needs to keep those " backward views" and maybe become a nicer person when he hangs up his gloves.

  7. Hero. 100%

No matter what happens from now on, what he did last Saturday night will go down in glorious history for British boxing but mainly for him. Incredible stuff. I've never seen anything like it. He told the world exactly what he was going to do that night and then went and did it!

I wouldn't be surprised if he jacks it in. Millions in the bank and a sky high profile now, he's got the media and tv skills. Plus he's cracked the USA big time.

And who cares about his 'backward views'? PC tossers? And who cares about them? Definitely not Tyson Fury ;) It's all good.

  8. Fury, above all, is a thoroughly decent human being. A really decent person.

  9. If it's true that he donated his purse of $9m to a homeless charity then I agree with you :)

  10. Meanwhile Wilder should focus on crying in his beer. Instead he is now making excuses about why he lost (aka totally thrashed).

First, he criticised his assistant trainer, Mark Breland, for chucking in his towel to stop the fight, claiming he is a warrior and would have wanted to go out on his sheild. I think the means a stretcher? How did the assistant trainer get to make the call = where was Wilders actual trainer?

Now, he's blamed his walk-on outfit. "Fury didn't hurt me at all, but the simple fact is that my uniform was way too heavy for me," Wilder said the costume, which featured armour, a mask and a crown, weighed at least 40 pounds (18.1kg) and was a tribute to Black History Month.

"I didn't have legs from the beginning of the fight - in the third round, my legs were just shot all the way through," he explained. " "A lot of people were telling me, 'it looked like something was wrong with you.' Something was, but when you're in the ring you have to bluff a lot of things. I tried my best to do so. I knew I didn't have the legs because of my uniform," he added.

So evidently the wieght of a 3 1/2 year old child worn for ten minutes (?) made him lose the fight. FFS if he was that unfit, surely he should have trained harder!

In the outfit he looked like a prick, now we know he chose well...

  11. fair play to fury.

I really honestly, whole heartedly believe that Joshua is overrated. He’s had an easy ride with little opposition from actual quality boxers. And even some of them have hurt him.

he beat Vlad when he was well past it, in his prime I doubt it. And vitali.. forget it.

but then saying that I don’t think the heavy weight division has been much cop for a decade or two.

  12. Given Joshua & Co appear keen to fight Fury, if he really doesn't have what it takes you have to wonder why? Obviously there would be a huge fee, but he would make more fighting lesser boxers for four years...

  13. Totally agree about Joshua. I've been watching some footage of Bruno back in the day and he was a much better mover than AJ the robot. And everyone thought Bruno was shite. AJ's a poster boy. Loads of sponsorship, a cash freight train.

  14. fury is probably AJ’s biggest threat. But Fury I wouldn’t exactly call world class, I mean he is in 2020, but as said before the heavy weight division seems a bit wank these days

  15. well put.

for someone who looks so fit, it would seem he doesn’t fair too well

  16. After AJ got found out by Ruiz Jr, his management team will be shit scared of fighting anyone decent. Dillian White was unlucky and reckon the upcoming new boy Daniel Dubois would flatten AJ. They'll be steering well clear of danger fights and eager to hit the big one with Fury...

  17. I think the heavyweight division is pretty dam good these days! It has been shite but it's interesting now I'd say...

  18. Surely he was taking the piss with such silly lame excuses?? .... Maybe not

  19. On that basis ^^^Joshua is over rated and will be smashed by Fury. Losing his belts a second time will be career ending. Why wouldn't he fight ordinary guys like he has been doing very sucessfully for a few years, making loads of money & then retire?
