  1. After laughing in the face of others, since getting new kangaroo leathers I now to have a too slippy seat issue

    Should I

    1. Buy the DP touring streetfighter seat for £140.00
    2. Buy an aftermarket cover and staple it on
    3. Spray something on my seat
    4. Wear my knickers over my leathers

Gripping more with my knees is not an option - well not in this situation anyway as its the forward slide that is causing issue

  2. 4 is clearly entirely dependant on the knickers in question

  3. I'd buy a neoprene seat. However, please try option 4 first as it's obviously much cheaper

  4. Can't you cut a hole in the gusset and cling on like a limpet?

  5. Lol Char
Well wear your knickers on the outside

  6. Self adhesive Velcro patches........one on the seat and one on your bum.

PS...........I used to treat my one piece leathers with Preslea preserver, but I found that when was hurling myself around on the sidecar outfit, it made them stick to whatever I leaned on (mainly my chest over the rear wheel)..so I always had to give my front a dusting with talcum powder before races to get some slip.....

If you can find Preslea still, I would rub some on your bum (I mean on the bum of your leathers).

  7. Ive got Saxon seat covers on my 999, look good and a grippy bum area. I'm hoping to get up to UMOC weekender on Sunday for a couple of hours if weather ok so you can have a looksee and a sitsee if you want. Got a 10% discount code for them as well. Streetfighter Easy(cheap) to have fitted as they go on top of original.

  8. yeah I did look at those - thought it might look a bit garish on mine but I'd like to see one in the flesh so to speak :frown:

  9. Char on my 1098 I have had original, DP neoprene and DP Superpole seat. Both Neoprene and Superpole seat were/are brilliant compared to the original which had me sliding all over place. Huge difference to my enjoyment and worth every penny.

Just watch out if the aftermarket seat alters the height. It takes very little to make the bike seem ridiculously tall, that's why I sold the Superpole being a shortarse. The neoprene if anything lowers the stretch and that's why I have went back to it.

Any of the other options are not going to work as well. Irritating having to shell out but it's one if the best mods I made for £ Vs Comfort.

  10. the annoying thing is I've done 8 k on this bike in the last year including a trip to Italy and have had no issues with seat comfort or grip

spend 'a lot' of money on posh leathers and now I need to change my seat

I am on tip toes as it is - anything that makes it higher is out of the quesion -

I got ScottLloyd to re do my monster seat , may get a price for them to re cover SCOTT LLOYD PORTFOLIO
