A nice set of M9RR’s showed up on my doorstep today. Think I’m going to put them on myself with the zip tie and tape method. Has anyone bought a static tyre balancer with cones big enough to fit the rear single sided swinging arm wheels on Multi’s and Panigale’s? (That doesn’t cost so much it makes it not worth while). There’s a few static balancers on eBay but I haven’t found one with big cones. I think the pin is 38mm
I have one. Cheap ones are fine. But not done Ducati size hub. Why not just add layers of gaffa tape until the cone fits snug?

Thanks Andy but do you think it’s really worth spending 120quid on a balancer and cones? There’s others that will do the job perfectly around £30 but call me old fashioned an extra £30 for the big cones irks me. Might as well bung them at a fitting place and twiddle my thumbs while they scratch my wheels
I balance my front one at home, I took my rear once to the local garage and it didn't need any weights so I never bothered with the rear again. Steve
No comment on cost, I had the time to look for a link to hopefully make your search a little easier. My local tyre fitter charges me £5 per wheel if I rock up with a tyre and a bare wheel. If he supplies the tyre there and then, he usually loses the cost of fitting so doing it myself is never an option I would choose. Andy
So buy a 30 quid unit for the front, and abba's adaptor for the rear at 30 quid. https://abbastands.co.uk/product-detail.asp?item=single-sided-adapter&pid=24
I went cheap with one of these - works great too. Just had a cone turned up for it. Some on here have lathes too Already had a cheap paddock stand that it fit though. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warrior-...673685?hash=item468d243f55:g:RngAAOSwihtdlIh8 Larger cones here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Portable...090285&hash=item41d61b54ba:g:8t0AAOSwSeVaKqSu Lots of cheap options for frames on Ebay too.
I have one of these and also these. Not that cheap individually but bought as part of a complete kit including their tyre changer. Doesn't make absolute economic sense but means I'm independent of tyre places that around here charge £10 a wheel and are some distance away. Have changed tyres three times since buying it now, it's not hard but takes a couple of hours all in. Removing/replacing the front wheel is always the most time consuming aspect. Balancing seems effective.
i bought a cheap 30 quid frame from amazon with cones up to 37mm and also an abba SSS adapter for the rear wheels works great
