V4 V4s Build - From Start To Finish

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Topolino, Feb 20, 2020.

  1. Others here seem to be not that surprised by this level of detail from you but unlike the rest this is the first of your content that I’ve seen, I’m frickin blown away.
    I imagine there’d be people in Bologna that would see this thread and be seriously impressed.

  2. Either that or they would be embarrassed by all their shit fixings :joy:

  4. Perhaps those that do, have read my other threads on the 1199 and 1299 and know what a fussy barsteward I am!
    In any case thanks for your comments.

  5. I'm off to France tomorrow for my six monthly beasting in the simulator. Assuming I don't come back riddled with Coronavirus, I'm aiming to post up some more info on the parts inventory waiting to go on the bike, next week, as I'll have a little more free time to wade through all the boxes. More so, if I have to self-isolate! Stay tuned.

  6. Great thread this, it leaves me feeling wholly inadequate, I can’t even fit a new number plate without fucking it up

  7. You mean they shouldn’t be vertical when the bikes on its side stand?

    I’m well impressed with the build too!

  8. How long does it take you to pack for the trip and what is your packing strategy? Asking for an CDO (that’s OCD in alphabetical order) friend? ;)

  10. Not very long at all. No real strategy. I simply work out what I need not want (essentials) for the duration, add in an extra day's worth for good measure and I'm good to go. However, I always go armed to the teeth with cables, adaptors, portable tech, laptop, tablet etc., as hotel rooms can be pretty bland places after a few days and on the off chance I got stuck there with Covid-19 on this recent trip, I also took an Amazon Firestick and TV Cube running BT Sport, Eurosport, Netflix, Prime Video, Kodi and all the usual on-demand players, so worst case scenario would be room service and binge watching some box-sets. Thankfully it wasn't an issue in southern France, so I managed to complete my training and got back to the UK yesterday, before the situation inevitably worsens.

  11. You shouldn't feel inadequate. There are plenty of skills I lack in life and tasks I struggle with, just as there are others I fair better at. I am sure everyone is no different in that respect, including you.

  12. I feel I have to point out that one of the carboard boxes on a picture on page five is ever so slightly out of line with the floor tile, Just saying.

    Only kidding. Great job!! :astonished::upyeah:

  15. As I said...hoping to post up some pics of the parts yet to go on the bike in the next week or so. The Coronavirus situation may have a bearing on how things pan out in terms of the garage build and when exactly I will finally get my hands on the bike again to recommence the build project so please bear that in mind. Man cave construction is set to start 2nd week of April so fingers crossed for a 3rd week of July continuation.

  16. I have settled on a new seat pad for the project from Tappezzeria Italia. Beautifully made and the stitching is perfect. All I need now is a bike to fit it on. Unica - 304.jpg

  17. All wiring mods on the bike meant I needed an arsenal of products to ensure they looked a part of the OEM loom, where possible. I purchased a selection of heat-shrink tubing, nylon and braided sheathing and some solder bullet connectors. You can also spot the 2 front indicator fly-leads.
