  3. My Karcher died after only a couple of years so wasn't too impressed.

Bought a cheaper Qualcast one and it's been good as gold for patio and foam wash of bikes and cars.

  4. I have 2 K10 TST's.....one still brand new in the box as a spare if ever mine fails as in my line of work if a pressure washer goes down then I'm up shit creek......been on my original now for years...never ever failed me once. Just give it an oil change after the first 100 hours use. Obviously in my profession it gets some serious abuse......so I can't recommend them enough...

  7. Another shout for Kranzle

  8. I have the ultimate all purpose version, comes complete with brush attachments, ambidexterous. Runs hot and cold and can put anything under sufficient pressure. Requires the usual accessories, marigold gloves and decent wellies. maintenance costs a fortune, so look after it well.
Easily replaced with newer models. Can be found on a variety of web sites for a small subscription charge. Often comes with a free trial period. Long term abuse not recommended. Variety of uses which should be explored before commitment. Will operate in manual and automatic modes. Subject to overheating and some background hissing when incorrectly adjusted.
    Every home should have one.

  9. Don't forget if you have full membership and so have the halfords card (they do kearcher) You get a discount.

easiest way to find out how much is buy online, use your halfords card and see what the final price is ? then cancel the transaction if you do not want it

  10. After 2 years our Kärcher k7 failed, started running the motor, but with zero water pressure, probably a broken pump or a shaft.
Purchased from Amazon with a 3 year warranty. Replaced next day (today) with a new one.....
If you buy direct the warranty is 5 years.

  11. Karcher do offer refurbed kit,....also based by me in Banbury. Their line of hot water kit is awesome just depends on how much you're willing to spend.

  12. Like a lot of things you get what you pay for, that is until you've got an established name for "quality" and then the bean counters stick their oar in and start asking if it can be made cheaper to increase margins, then cheaper models come out, same name on the box but very different inside, sometimes not even made by the company on the box?

I would steer clear for sure anything with plastic fittings, by that in particular the screw thread the hose lock nozzle attaches for the water inlet and the output one for the pressure hose, a weak point on many a cheap washer. Generally the supplied hose lock nozzle is made of brittle plastic and crack/split at the slightest hint of moving the unit so you then fit a better quality one and it passes the stress onto the threaded pipe of the unit itself and splits/cracks that.

After above issue, returned to Argos under guarantee and replaced with a Qualcast unit (with metal fittings) and still using it 5 years on......

  13. I have a Karcher at present, but its falling apart slowly.

  16. For people with more money than sense who only want to show off and don't care that they depreciate like a stone? I thought Kranzle were ok!

  17. I bought a Karcher K5.85 back in 2004 I think it was and it's still going now. It wasn't used every weekend but pretty much for the first 10 years or so. It doesn't come out to play much recently but did do a stint cleaning walls and footpaths at my partners house a few months ago. (I don't seem to be able to get it back so I'm in the market for another!) Only thing that has broken on it was the plastic clip that hold the lance in place and that only broke becasue I knocked it over. Like many things nowadays, buy cheap buy twice. There are products that do go against that grain though.

  18. I fitted a hose to the inlet of a sand blasting gun switched the compressor on and hey presto I had a jet washer

Then I bought a cheap Karcher it's still going but only use it once in a blue moon

  19. I've definitely learnt that most deck/ path cleaning is quicker and easier with 50pence bleach mixed 1:1 with water and applied with a brush/ broom. No effort required, the brush is only to spread the water/ bleach around. Takes minutes, works everytime. The Karcher blasting the crap off the deck ends up all over the walls the glass doors and my jeans boots etc. Annoyingly the moss on the deck is is not killed by the Karcher, its just moved and grows back. The bleach kills all the seeds and so its far better imo as it stays cleaner longer!.

My Karcher is mostly retired save for the springtime blasting down the outside paintwork on the house.
