For Sale Ktm 525 Supermoto

Since ive started my 400/4 build thread theres absolutely no room in my garage and pressure from the wife over the years to "get rid of one them!" my supermoto has to go. Started life as an EXC (i knew the previous owner) and spent te 70 hours that he had it for getting dumped into puddles on Salisbury plain bigger than itself. I bought it, stripped it to the frame and rebuilt it getting everything coated. The list of mods is endless, 2 pac powder coat of it the frame, swing arm and sub frame. Engine coated in Xylan, stainless header and akra rear. Entire electrical system replaced with motogadget. New battery last week. So much other stuff i cant remember. Will come with an 1" thick pile of receipts. Usage: Built it 5 years ago to replace a hypermotard which i sold. Just after i finished it i got the hyper i own now. Its been lying for the last 5 years or so literally unused. The odd trip to work to turn the engine over. The longest trip its ever had is to Weston-Super-Mare bike night where within 10 mins a couple of hoodies took a shine to it and the alarm went off (built it Motodaget alarm). Anyway rambling now. 2.5k which is half what i cost to build. Heres a recent pic of it...although ill put an upto date one on when it stops fucking raining....

I got it on 70 hours, but then the motor was stripped to the crankcases for coating. The lad that rebuilt the engine said "theres nothing wrong with it!". I hazzard its been used a couple of dozen times over the years to work (10 miles each way)

Stuff which i think needs doing....the speedo isnt working, checked the wiring and its all ok so not too sure....when the seat and tank is off id say the wiring could do with a tidy (all stainless steel cored) quite literally, miltary grade...went to tax it today but just found the mot is out so ill go and get a new one (confident itll just fly straight through)

Sorry Sir....really got it in the neck from the other half the other night - so i had to make sure it would go quickly....if im honest i would have said it was probably worth 500 probably 1000 more...

 

Hmmm....well, hes coming to look at it this afternoon - its getting MOT'd tomorrow and then...hopefully collecting tomorrow night...i think..!

 

Yep - sold - collected last night - i must confess no one has ever ridden the ktm apart from me and when he turned up last night to collect it and rode away on it - i did think - "that sounds meaty as fuck!"
