What's wrong with him?? Do you know him? I don't ever recall him doing anything particularly annoying. He's a pro bike racer and he's pretty good at his job. Doesn't get under my skin
Will go down in history as one of the best multiple World Champions. To me he's a great family man, when he's not racing or doing the promo work, he has time for his kids and wife. He's not running the streets pretending to be a rapper or a piss head arrogant twat. With a determination comes that self criticism and need to win, if he's not winning he's pissed off, that's what champions are like, focused. Plus he rides motocross and that alone gets my respect and he's quick. It's how he started racing, he always admits that's where his heart is, but it doesn't have the financial benefits of WSBK. Anyone I spoke to that met him says he's pretty down to earth and just a normal lad, except that he has a natural talent for riding bikes and made the history books.
My only interaction with Rea was at Donington WSB a couple of years ago when he was Sykes team mate. They did the charity auction together and he was ok if a bit awkward. Even when Sykes was throwing packets of nuts at him he was cool. Signed autographs and chatted to the fans no problem.
I struggle with any riders that dish out harsh stuff and then whine like a slipping dry clutch when they get it back.
Off the back of my previous comment I do know people who know him who’ve said he’s a genuine guy to be fair
If Race 1 of this year's WSBK is anything to go by, it's gonna be a hell of a season. Top 3 separated by .041s (!) Like him or not, Rea is an integral part of it.
Like to see him on gp bike he has massive talent But like most racers today they are corporate droids with the same line in interview sponsor filled dross . Not allowed to say it how it is
I personally find it refreshing that he isn’t plastered all over Twitter/ Instagram /Facebook / Snapchat... I always have respected the footballer who turns up for training, plays his matches then goes home to his (usually huge) house in his (usually expensive) car to his (usually gorgeous) wife compared to the ones who turn up everywhere, become the face of a expensive clothes / perfume firm, court the media without shame then bitch like a 3 year old that it’s ain’t fair when the self same media take photos of them that they don’t want seen. I firmly believe in the right to privacy but there has to be a bit of give and take - from both sides...
Seems like a great guy to me, a family man for sure. I've never met him but to me he comes over as genuine. Sure he's pissd if he doesnt win but I've noticed he doesnt tend to blame others. He's a hard rider but so is Rossi, Marquez and the other great riders. A stunning rider.
