Disney Plus Anyone ?

  1. You have the Ultra HD premium subscription - assume you have a 4K TV?

  2. You know me better, I’d far rather be out sampling than watching. Masterchef (amateur and professional) and Great British Menu have IMO, had their day and I have absolutely no idea why, I see BBC has relaunched Ready, Steady, Cook. Andy

  3. Netflix do 1m free iirc. Worth a go. Prime similar.

One thing you’ll find is Netflix and prime made programmes are the best picture and sound quality you’ll get!

  4. Samsung QE75Q90R QLED ?

Didn't realise it was twice the price!

  5. Very nice TV :upyeah:

Told you we need a Green with envy rating! :grinning:

  6. No you don't ........ I've just found out that it's about £2K cheaper than when I bought it and there is now 8K versions....:sob:
What to do... upgrade now or wait unit the 32K, 64K.... 128K versions......!
1024 Version or will I be.... :skull:

  7. So are you watching repeats now?

  8. So I just bought the 950R in the knowledge Samsung launched a later T version at CES 2020. Your 90R is still one of the best TVs out there and there is very little 8K content. Andy

  10. No, just spending a little less time together :joy: Seriously though, the lack of motorcycle sport is depressing. Andy

  11. To be fair I only update the TV's every 5 years... still had CRT's in the spare rooms until about a year ago.

  12. Top tip - NEVER buy a TV when it has just been released! :grinning:

But other than that just enjoy the fact you have one of the best available.

There’s next to no 8k content, 4k is rare, HD 1080p is as good as you will get on terrestrial tv.

The UK is years behind Japan - they already have 4k broadcasts and were pushing 8k ready for the Olympics. (were)

On the plus side you now have the time to catch up on lots of movies on your glorious massive TV!

  13. I was sure the stone age was more than 5 years ago :joy: Andy

  14. Westworld was amazing...... (Amazon prime TV)
Linked to some sort of fangled sound bar with base speaker .... drives the cats mad...
Is it me or is it taking like 10 seconds to log into Netflix...

  15. My wife is taken by smart tv's - curry's is now closed, phew, we can stick to the now ancient Panasonic 59" plasma (suitable as ship anchor when no longer required) :D

  17. It was only last year I chucked out our massive CAD CRT.... took two of us to load it on the truck..... I still remember buying it for the price of a small car! :sob::sob:: unamused: :D
It was about 20 years ago....
It was taking up the space of a fridge on the shelf.... !'m sure I put it there by myself.
It must have been when I had arms that could go out straight... and less material that limits my reach.... I was like one of these guys trying to move it...

  18. Don't the latest 8K TV's upscale to increase the viewing experience, I think the better 4K do the same.

  19. I paid the pre subscription to Disney Plus at £49 for the year (£10 off), obviously with 2 children both of whom have grown up through different eras of Disney it was worth a punt, especially with the pandemic unfolding and trying to keep chins up :upyeah:

Yesterday the apps launched across the Amazon firesticks (£30) and I've also got it on the other TV's in the house as, all lg and available through the webos software, the oldest LG in the kitchen being a 2018 model through to the LG E9 65" in the front room (that's new and my treat to myself)

App is very good across all platforms , nicely laid out, quick, Bright and punchy colours, properly done (screen grabs from a ipad app version)

Content wise there's loads and more to come, a lot of it in 4k dolby atmos too, we watched the Lion King Film as a family last night and it looked amazing on the oled, tonight we'll pick another and again all sit together, it's just perfect for a family get together or binge watch on your own.

There's the good old nostalgic ones in both animation and film (bed knobs and broomsticks anyone?) and of course the modern stuff from Marvels entire back catalogue and Star wars including the newest releases.

    Nationals geographic as well BTW.

Worth £50 for a year? Yes, considering we're in a lock down it's been perfectly timed....almost as though Bozza knew the launch date was the 24th or Covid 19 is secretly a Disney ploy to increase subscription figures o_O:eyes:
