  1. Why oh why did I sell my SF, stunning bike and getting very hard to find a decent one.

  2. I agree - I should have said that its the best compromise. Can't find all the wet weights, but dry weights - Street Triple RS 166kg, Streetfighter V4s 178kg, Speed Triple RS 189kg. The Speed Triple is actually lighter than I remembered. But then I had to trade it in December and the memory - like many things - isn't what it used to be.

  3. The !natural speed" is 95 mph and he got 27 mpg for 20k!!! Dunno if that's a typical MCN review trash (I do really) or whether anyone at Ducati GB would look at that review and think, "Oh good. That really describes the bike with incitefullnes and great journalism, we will sell loads now".
I accept that I may be in a minority of one but the review leaves me stone cold. I know that I'm not anti-social enough and have an out-of- date desire to keep my driving licence rather than ride everywhere at 95 mph returning 27 mpg.

  4. The Panigale V4S originally had the silver exposed frame before they realised they had cocked up in that department and swiftly changed it with the refresh. V4SF arrives, black frame, result, but then kept the silver looking surround around the radiators. The refresh will be black. :) or can you get carbon ones as an extra. Smart cookies those maoney making bods at Ducati. :D

  5. If only they sold it in the pikes peak colour scheme.

In a year or so I’ll be looking for an ex demo or a used one that someone has put the full akra system on, rode it for 500miles then sold it and it’s lost 5k in value (hopefully).

  6. Read through all the comments...where do i start....

Looks: Yep casting an overall eye over it - but, look closer and its very MT-10'y - lots of little shapes just screwed on (and i dont like the MT10).
    Price: Fuck off
Summary: As above - looks ok, way too expensive and as other have said. In agreement, theyve priced themselves out of the market, wont sell any (well, not in the numbers they expect) and then stop building them and wonder why (probably touting the pandemic as the reason or some shit like that) - which will be fed by their marketing department. If i had the cash to spunk it would definately be on a 1290r, for the price i think they got it bang on (couple of grand cheaper and they'd have had a sure fire hit). However, bikes are now getting so complicated the average Joe cant really mess with them - to a certain extent (something i do take pride in - looking after my own stuff).

Something to note (with newer stuff) - a few weeks ago i was at fowlers - was looking over a 1290r and started talking the usual shit with the salesman...i said..."well, if i owned one id stick a full system on it..." to which he replied...y'cant - if you do it disables the indicators... so some sort of custom ecu flash, if it can be done....so if it couldnt - that would straight away write that choice off for me. All 3 of mine have full systems with custom mapped ecu's. That statement for the most of it did it for me...in my head at the time i thought "fuck that, ill upgrade my old rsv4 factory" - NIX30 forks are enroute...

Back to the nakeds....ill stick with my 2014 z1000. Refurbed the swing arm last week - took about an hour to re-assemble. They got it so right with that bike i cant see myself ever selling it (unless i physically cant ride it anymore). Ive done 155 on it (with a bit left), its totally reliable, (not missed a beat in 20k) makes lovely linear power (those of you who've owned an r6 it has that gearbox with 30% more power which is perfect for a naked)...sorry - digressing now...

Its a shame Mr Ducati.....your getting greedy and it shows...id rather have a specced up old 1098s

  7. Flip that on its head though. For every punter that walks In thinking it’s over priced and that it can’t be worked on, they’ll be another that can afford and will pay the money, is cack-handed and wouldn’t dare to top up the water let alone change an exhaust.

  8. I like his blogs TBH, I know he’s not everyone’s favourite but I really only watch him and 44 teeth. I gave up on TMF and his mirror obsession.

I think he prefers the first iteration of the Streetfighter, he seemed to be more enthused by the 848/1098 than the V4.

    If I weren’t strapped for cash think I’d buy a 2019 SD and a used 848 instead.

  9. I have a bike for sale that same colour £50 it’s yours.

  10. God damn it. Just my luck. An absolute bargain but social distancing means I can't have it. :(

What a time to have a global deadly pandemic !

  11. @Robarano

I have a PayPal account and parcel companies are collecting delivering bud, all I need is a box and your dreams come true bud.....

  12. But I'd want to ride it home. :(

  13. You can bud counts as exercise, just off to blow the tyres up now. I’ll throw in a spare inner tube and a colour matching cycle helmet too. Just think you get a new to you bike in ‘that special colour’ next to your rd350 and a new helmet for your cabinet. F*** me it’s a win win for you and another cycle out the door for me.

  14. On my way ! :D

  15. I’ve just watched a review of the Superduke R on a Freeview sport channel. No idea how old the review at Potimao was but the lunatic crazed rider concluded the bike made absolutely no sense whatsoever except to put a stupid grin on your face, all the time. Andy

  17. Trouble with any KTM is it loses value so quickly with the Company's pricing policy.

A QS is extra on the new R and you can buy 2 year old bikes, not even run in that have lost a third of their value.

  18. Here's my situation and please don't shoot me:confused:

I currently ride a Yamaha Vmax 1700 Carbon (very rare bike) and ive done 12k on it in 4 years - i love the bike however it juicy 30mpg and totally impractical as only does about 90 miles to a tank and i get fed up with filling it up twice every ride out i do.
2 years ago i made the decision to get a second bike that i can ride all the time and to stop me putting the miles on the Vmax - so i bought a Bking and didnt get on with that so i bought a MT10SP and loved it until i fell in love with the new Diavel 1260s so i part exchanged it for my first Ducati - well that was a horror show as after 20 days of ownership and 1600 miles it went back to the dealer with a knackered engine and i got a refund so to tide me over i went out in August last year and bought another brand new MT10SP (got a cracking deal with loads of accessories ) for £13000 and for the rest of the year rode that and did 3k in the end. I then have sold the bike in December and got £12200 for it so i did well all in anticipation of buying a BMW S1000XR which i have left a £100 refundable deposit on (bike due in late May)

    Now i here you asko_O

although i had a bad experience with my last Ducati i feel i would like to have another go if you get my drift as they make some stunning looking bikes i think you will agree.

So im currently sorting out a advert as its time to say goodbye to the Vmax - it was a dream bike for me to own and i know i will regret it but it make no sense for it to just sit in the corner of the garage now, and thinking of another V4 this time the Streetfighter - id looked at the Aprillia v4 Factory but think the pegs are too high and dont really like the styling at the front - then as i need some sort of tourer i can buy a XR next year ready for the trips as im sure this year will be difficult due to Covid 19.
My wife works in the travel industry and has predicted once we come out of lockdown holiday prices will be high so it makes sense to me to wait.

Talking of the Streetfighter - the looks are marmite - the only thing i dont like is the dash surround as when i looked at it at the NEC it felt cheap but there is a carbon surround for it so easily sorted.
Ive had a brief discussion via email with a dealer who has agreed to a £600 accessories discount and the availability is June/July but ive not had anymore contact with them (ive bought from them before hence the discount)
Does anyone think in the current climate that Bike manufacturers will reduce prices/offer cheaper finance/bundle accessories in order to shift bikes ?

So question is to by now and pay £19700 for SFV4s or wait till later in year for a used one as i know in a years time it will only cost about 16 -17k still a lot of money though

Sorry for the long post but wanted other bikers opinion as the wife says i can do what i want :):)

  19. i don't think for a moment they will drop prices or do deals on the actual bikes but the wait list will suddenly shrink as folks change their mind. Ducati might underwrite cheaper PCP finance but wouldn't hold my breath on that either. Before my dealer closed shop he said he reckoned my bike would be here sooner than expected. And they will certainly offer deals on accessories - don't know if still available but they were giving 20% off all streetfighter kit few months back which i took advantage of.

  20. yes you might be right - when i bought my Diavel they gave me 20% off any accessories i wanted and so i had the Termi exhaust fitted and a few other bits as well.
