Euro Trackdays Cancelled

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by deleteduser211220, Mar 13, 2020.

  1. The guys booked on for Laguna Seca will be watching with interest... I know a few lads that booked flights etc, what a pita. Hopefully it'll all have blown over by then.

  2. If I'd just paid a £500 non-refundable deposit, my next call would have been to a travel insurance company. If for whatever reason I hadn't insured the trip and couldn't go, I'd be trying for a credit note for future events and would not be expecting a full refund.

The fundamental difference with what's happening right now as a result of this pandemic, is the TDOs are the ones doing he cancelling, rather than the individual customer, which is now inciting demands for full refunds and rightly so to my mind. Agreed- it's not their fault, neither is it the customers.
FE keeping £200 'booking fee' which was never a booking fee is changing the rules to suit and is not reasonable IMO. I have yet to see where NL sit with regards to demands for refunds.
A 12-24 month credit note is ok with me (for now) but an awful lot can happen in that time and I'd be a lot happier having the money back with me where I can decide where to spend it.
As I said earlier, there are mechanisms in place now to keep business going, so interest free loans from their customers are not needed.

Airlines will be coming under similar pressure, a free reschedule is welcome, but where can one go?

  3. Once a seller has accepted a deposit from you, you have both effectively entered a contract. If one or the other pulls out, the law will generally favor the non puller outerer.... And I'll stop now cos I know fek all about law. Or the wording....

  4. ....or pulling out...:upyeah:

  5. I've seen folk posting online that NL have been issuing refunds even though they aren't broadcasting it. FE are just being cunts. They've ignored my emails again for a full refund.

  9. Good luck mate. Surely all this shit will have blown over by then..... I know a couple of lads in the same boat.

And I hope you remember to put a flower in your hair??

  10. Good luck, hope it works out ok.

  13. This just happened?
What's with the new avatar Nels mate? Mid life corona crysis?

  14. Got an e-mail this morning. My flights for April are with Ryan Air, but I suspect we can expect he same. Not heard anything 'formally' from FE, but don't expect good news.
    Nope, same ole crisis homie...

  15. Yeah so Ive had a look this morning, basically the flights union is trying to over turn the rule when if they cancel they have to issue a full refund like they have now in Canada. You can still get your money but you have to ring up as EasyJet have removed the refund part from their website. Ryanair have a refund page on their website but some people have complained its not working for them.
Also when can claim, you have to claim after the day of the flight, believe for Ryanair its 3 hours after.
Ive got the Almeria trip, a Berlin trip a week before and a Edinburgh to Bristol flight booked this month. Ill be snapped if I don’t get the money back.
Yeah mate I’ve forgotten about FE already, useless.
Got an email from NL yesterday mind, said so far Estoril in May isn’t cancelled as yet lol but if (when) it is then they will look at options, personally I’d take a voucher from NL for my deposit, will use that up in one weekend at Anglesey.

  16. Still battling with FE:

    Dear Robert,

With reference to the refund from the Almeria event. Please provide the bank details so that the refund may be processed.

The refund will be processed less the Booking Fee of £200.00 as we want to ensure that you receive monies in your account in the next 2 to 3 days.

We are in the midst of an unprecedented time and as such we are all having to make changes and adjustments. As emails have previously stated, we are receiving high volumes which require responses along with customer requests to process, therefore I have noted the comments made in your emails below. The question regarding the booking fee has been passed to me for review as we appreciate it is a difficult time for everyone including our valued customers, who we hope will be back on track once the Co-Vid19 pandemic is over therefore we ask for patience and understanding while we complete our review and I will assure you that I will reply to you by end of business on Friday 3rd April.

We thank you for your patience and understanding at this difficult time.

    Kind regards

    The Focused Events Team

  18. I have applied for a refund on my mid April flight with Ryan Air and have received an acknowledgement email.
I'm now waiting for confirmation that my flight at the end of April will be cancelled with them.

  19. Still waiting or them to give me the findings of their review...

  20. The end of play Friday reply wasn't forthcoming then? I'm shocked!
