  1. Hi all.

This is broke when tightening today in a shitty bicycle I’m using to burn the many sin calories I’m investing in . It tightens a bicycle saddle to the upright saddle post. Thought I might stand a good chance of guidance from you geniuses out there.

As usual many thanks in advance and wishing you all good health.

  2. What you need is a sleeve nut and a new bolt to fit in it. It looks like M6 internally and possibly 8mm OD.

  3. Yes agreed, now for silly question time, if it’s 7mm in diameter do I need an M7??

  4. Higgy beat me to it with a more accurate result.

  5. The diameter and length of the sleeve are the important dimensions. The thread doesn't really matter as long as the sleeve fits.

  6. Update the diameter is 8mm and the sleeve slides through a tunnel so cannot be thicker. Length not to critical as can be tightened from other side. So do I need an M8 nut and bolt ? Sorry for the silly question but don’t know if the sizes relate to real diameters .

  7. Just use a nut and bolt.

  8. M8 for a bolt means an 8mm diameter thread. The outside diameter of the bolt will thus be approx 8mm.
For a nut, M8 is the internal thread diameter. The outside/hex will be bigger than 8mm.
