My money pit (bike) has developed a rather horrible flat spot (for want of a better description) between ~5-6k in any gear. Gets very viby and feels as if its hitting a rev limiter. If you open up the throttle you go through it, then as the revs drop back you're back in the shit zone. Poss fuel filter? Or maybe it's time to get the non-stingy lube out and give her to CJS to set up properly...:frown: Any ideas? Cheers
I was experiencing exactly the same symptoms, and thought it could possibly be the fuel injectors. I made up my own cleaning rig thanks to chrisw on this site who very kindly gave me a spare electrical connector. I had to buy a can of carb' cleaner and some syringes and using the rig flushed them through several times and the problem seems to have disappeared.
