I see what you mean their kit is outfknrageous, Only Gulf gets away with Blue and Orange. Unforgivable hang em high.
Or a Gravel bike or a Cyclo cross , you’re too niche on that there MTB bud. Personally I refuse to ride A roads, I leave those for the crazies. Luckily where I live I have plenty of lanes to ride some fairly inaccessible for motorised vehicles. Other than that I have an official super duper ANOB 1/4 mile from where I live for my MTB habit.
as you say Paul it’s about being considerate of other road users. cyclists riding two abreast on a blind corner are asking for trouble.
If it hasn't already been mentioned, just be glad you don't live within 20 miles of boxhill , every olympic wannabe out every weekend on every available local rd . Puddy
Boxhill must be a nightmare since that there Olympics, as I ride cycles I ride motorbikes ie no where near so called Honeypots.
anything which is doing 60mph on a blind bend coming up on anything which is near stationary is going end badly. As a government official said to me about litigation in relation to fire in buildings, “what does an architect know about Fire safety that the fire specialists that wrote the design guide doesn’t?” That when specifying materials outwith the design guide recommendations. The Approved Documents for fire safety are not legal documents either but they may as well be. The same can be applied to this situation. The same can be said for any number of British standards. A barrister in a court of law will ask this simple question “What do you know Mr cyclist about cycling and road safety that the experts who wrote the Highway Code don't?” “What information do you have that they don’t that led to to decide 3 Abreast was ok? Or 2 abreast in a bend was ok”
Good grief, I must be bored, I've just read all of the partisan bull in this thread. And guess what, I've learnt the square root of sweet FA.
Just been out for a 9.69 mile jaunt on the pushbike as I have been motivated by this thread, stayed in single file as I'm a billy no mates and stopped at one point to let a wagon past (big mother on little road) I'm a cnut - I thank you
Just done 8.2 miles around the block on my own on the country roads. Saw a sparrow. Tried to cycle 3 abreast but found it tricky. I am a real cnut.
Can I just be clear.............................I dont think all cyclists are cnuts. Just those that ride 2 (or more) abreast and 12" apart from each other and who completely ignore the medical and government advice on social distancing that has been given to us all for the past month.

As someone who, occasionally, cycles I really don't understand the mindset of cyclists that don't use cycle paths and would rather ride on a busy road. Why refuse to use something that has been put there for your safety? Is there some kind of weird cycling snobbery that I don't know about? Are you considered to not be a "real cyclist" if you use a cycle path? Don't complain about other road users overtaking too close if there is a completely separate and safe section of pathway for you to be on...
I've taken up cycling, I absolutely love it. My bike isn't built for the roads but I still use it. Everyone should do it, it's great
