  1. Love that colour way, are those tubs or are you just very anal?

The Marmotte hell of a route, that last climb to Huez is a killer. Very memorable event though something I’ll only ever do once though.

  2. Latest bike and last 3390B621-90E9-4ACC-8238-AEDD4B60F489.jpeg A55CF17A-8930-41B3-8A25-91AF453F8805.jpeg

  5. Nope and not it’s intention, you know there’s no compulsion to click onto the thread should you feel that’s what this threads about.

  6. Is that attached to that Diavel??
Novel bike rack yet somewhat precarious.

  7. Not tubs, they’re Specialized S-Works tubeless which it came with. I’m using the Pirelli Centurano tubeless on all my road bikes now though as they seem to last better and I’ve never had any problems seating them.
The Marmotte route (we didn’t do the official event) was excellent, the worse bit for me was the main road from the Galibier to the Alpe, busy week day full of trucks and cars.
Raid Pyrenees in August this year as long as this shit is ‘under control’ by then, its already screwed up my Liege-Bastogne-Liege in April and Chase The Sun in June.

  8. Yep, looks more like a problem than a solution. There isn’t a motorcycle specific bike rack when you look, but you can convert bike racks to fit on a motorcycle.

  9. It was a complete bike with some nice period bits. I wasn’t looking for one but opened marketplace and it popped up so I messaged the guy but it had gone within a few minutes of him advertising it so then I started looking and realised it was a bargain !

  10. I haven’t got tubeless on anything, still very old school here. If you’re looking for a UK based challenge consider The Fred Whitton Challenge in the Lakes takes in from memory 5 of the main Lakes climbs. I’ve done it twice it’s probably a little easier than the Marmotte but not by much when you’re hitting 33% grads in places. Hardknot Pass is the toughest part....

L-B-L sounds epic, another good French event is Paris Roubaix not much climbing but the cobbles kill ya.

  11. Yes they tend to go quick if you see 1, from memory they tried to do a count of how many built across the 3 iterations but mission impossible in reality.

  12. It’s a work of art, unique lines and goes like stink!

  13. I've got an ancient Carrera Vulcan (dont laugh). The front suspension fork is buggered and I'd like to replace with solids/rigid. Anyone able to direct me towards the correct item? These a bewildering choice on e-bay!

  14. I’ll assume it’s ahead has it a 1 inch steerer or 11/2? Try and buy an uncut 1 if you can or at least with a longer steerer than you have.

What wheel size and has it discs or old School rim brakes?

  15. Hi , has these forks, yes disc brake.

  16. i’ve done Paris Roubaix and Tour of Flanders twice each, two very different events with regards to climbing. I think the biggest climb on PR was when the road went over a motorway bridge. Flanders is a brilliant day out, great route with some iconic climbs and cobble sections. I did the Chingles de Ventoux (3 times up via the different routes) in 2014 then in 16 I did it 4 times by using the cross country route. Also did Ventoux to Nice in a day, starting at the bottom of Ventoux, up to the top then finish on the Med in Nice 15 hours later, 5700 mtrs of climbing over 180+ miles.

  17. Tubeless is the same as disc’s, once you’ve taken the plunge you wont go back. The amount of times tubeless has kept me going is unreal. Well worth it time and effort to get fitted.

  18. Roubaix twice gulp, never did get to Ventoux just too far from where I live. Guess I’ll be changing once my wheel set run out, for the amount of riding I can manage in normal times not worth it but looks great.

  19. 4 for me

Parts bin Orange Patriot ( the last new Patriot frame)
Dialled Prince Albert - fantastic hardtail and built up by me. Spent too much on this :)
Genesis Equilibrium - did LEJOG and serves commuting duty.
Brompton - heavy but I love it.
