Modelling Lathe

Discussion in 'Parts, Accessories & Clothing For Sale' started by mike willis, Apr 8, 2020.

  1. My father is heading for the exit, he's 91 and not too good.
He's asked me to get rid of his lathe, it's a modelling lathe, mounted on a steel table.
No idea what it's worth, quite happy for a member to come and pick it up, a van job.
Open to any offers, not sure if this is in the right bit, sorry if it's not.

  3. Image, weight & your location kind sir?

  4. Thanks, it's getting harder to enjoy time with him, just going through the motions, just trying to make my mums life a little easier, shouldn't really go to their house but my mum cannot move him.

  5. Not got a picture as yet, but I will, Marlow, Bucks, No idea of weight, I would have thought a transit would cope.
If anyone needs a look first it's easy
    Hope that helps

  8. Hi mike thinking of you at this difficult time.
I am interested please in the lathe. If you get the chance for a picture or description make model etc that would be great.
I’m near Nilton Keynes and have a van

  10. Sad to hear of the difficult times faced by you and your family.

I know Andy above would make great use of your dads lathe.

Best wishes to you and yours.

  11. Thanks for your support, I will try and get some pictures today, my father was an engineer and has all sorts of stuff at home, there's a bandsaw in the garage, a bench you could park a bus on, more handtools than most men, a welder, I'll document it all sometime, I'm sure my mum will appreciate the space in the shed.

  12. Think it’s all been said above but, just to add my support at this difficult time Mike.

A couple of pictures of his lathe and bandsaw, the lathe is mounted on a steel bench with the motor etc, the lathe is about two feet long, the bench is about two feet by three feet.
It's obviously German, no idea as to it's age.
The band saw is about five feet high, as far as I know it all works.
All his bits that go with it are included, absolutely no idea as to value, open to offers.
I'll be there to help get it loaded, up to you.
