  3. Get them properly measured and put the sizes up.

You may be able to cross reference the sizes to the application.

Buyers can then work out what they want.

  4. So PBM ran Stuart Easton on a 748RS in 2002 and Steve Hislop and Shane Byrne on a 998 in 2003 and 2004. 749R didn’t enter the fray until 2004. So wtf have I got ? Andy

  5. Some rods you can't get rid of at the moment?... :p

  6. They should be etched with the serial numbers (part numbers) which can be cross referenced via Pankl website. This company can make the shells: http://www.formhalls.com/

  7. Rs rods are 0.5 mm shorter from the bottom of the little end to the top of the big end. Also these rods use the bottom of the rod to centre and mot the top.
Mine are stamped b024 and b007 if that any help.

  8. Looking at that advert again.
I didnt scroll down for further info.

  9. I guess these are used with pistons with pins high up near the crown.

  10. Suspended!!!! I was just going to buy them now we know what they are...

  11. You should have some 5mm longer/shorter than others

  12. That pretty much matches what I’ve got but what does that mean ? Andy

  13. @JoeC 996rs rods are 27-32 mm shorter.

I guess what pistons you are using, cylinder height, crank stroke etc.

Longer rods take load off the cylinder walls at higher rpm. The rod angle is less than when using shorter rods.

  14. If I wasn’t thoroughly confused, I am now. Andy

  15. I’ve emailed Craig. Andy

  16. Imagine a piston...the position of the pin hole in it, can be higher nearer the top on racing light weight pistons, due to material loss.

In order to keep a similar overall length, the rods are longer.
