Hi all, My rear master isn’t bleeding at all after a winter parked up (probs before as I never use the rear brake). anyone else had this issue? I’ve had the calliper off and upside down like people say but the master simply isn’t pumping fluid. Annoying as I want to get an MOT! can I replace the master and bleed myself with an abs bike? I have bled numerous other bikes with no issue.... Thanks
thanks Derek! Purchased a new master form Moto Rapido (brilliant service!!). what a pain in the ass to bleed!! Calliper off and tied up so the bleed nipple faces up and it wouldn’t bleed in the conventional method (like the master didn’t have the capacity to push the system). Got myself an e bay pneumatic bleed kit and that sorted the job out after some patience. Ready for MOT now. thanks again Simon
Good to hear you got it fixed. Last year I had to replace the front master cylinder on a Scrambler (not mine). I realised that bleeding it conventionally would push a lot of air from the new master cylinder down the line which could be hard to get out. I put no fluid in the reservoir and used a syringe to push fluid up from the bleed nipple. The brake came solid right away. I then used the syringe to empty the reservoir which was now full of old fluid from the brake line and filled it with new. Job done.
