Hi all, Due to this current situation I have found time to pull my 999BP 2003 out and give it a once over. However it has been sat undercover for 9yrs and now will not start. I have removed the plugs and they are sparking, I suspect a fuel issue as plugs seem to be dry. Got fresh fuel in the tank. I can hear the pump when ignition is turned on. I have fuel in the lines that come from the pump that go under the air box not sure from there as I have not removed it. Any ideas of what I should check next? TA Steve
If the plugs are sparking the injectors must also be firing. So there is either no fuel pressure (burst line in tank?) or as Loz suggests, blocked injectors.
It seems to have pressure as when I removed the 2 lines from beneath the tank they seemed to be under pressure and squirted fuel out.
My 999 has been acting strange lately, it always starts first time, goes like stink but has always had this ability to just conk out, it make a funny noise as it does, but always starts again. Took it out yesterday, it was hot enough for the fans to cut in, it cut out but turned over really slow. I made my delivery on foot and 10 minutes later it started up and ran fine but with the engine management light on. Turned it off and started again, all fine. I'm taking it out again this morning, just to see what happens. Any ideas anyone?
