St4s Suspension Compatibility With 888

Discussion in '851 / 888' started by mystera888, Apr 20, 2020.

  1. I reckon I know the answer, but is there any merit in utilising the St4s shock and forks in the 888 strada?

I’m pretty sure the ohlins shock isn’t compatible, its 20mm or so longer for a start.

I have the whole front end, so could use the St4s front wheel, spindle, brakes and mudguard. The St4s forks are 50mm (top) and 54mm (bottom yoke) diameter.

Just deciding what to do about off loading the unwanted St4s parts from the engine transplant.

  2. @ducati dad

You can get the st4s rear wheel to fit with a bit of modification. The front will go in with the st forks etc.

  3. I was hoping to keep the wheels, they’re in near perfect order with virtually unused tyres. I imagine it’s a case of swapping the bearings, but haven’t looked into this yet.

  4. You can get the tyres swapped over. Plus the 5 spokes painted black look cool

  5. I used both ST4s wheels. With the rear, I had the rear axle slot in the swingarm milled out to 25mm and had a 25mm axle made.

  6. How much do you want for the ST4S rear shock?
I might want one for an experiment.

    Henk!!!
