1200 DVT Exhaust Paint

  1. Has anyone found a close match to the silver colour on a stock DVT exhaust ? I have a small scuff on mine and it drives me nuts. I really dont want to go to an aftermarket can cos I actually like the OE look.

I have tried 5 wheel silver and Sperex silver case paint, but although the caps look close, the paint does not :(

It's either that or sort a new top silencer cover I think ...

  2. Do you mean the brushed aluminium end pieces? They are not painted though they might be lacquered.
If you have no success I have a complete OE tail pipe in my garage as I have an aftermarket exhaust fitted. For a small donation and P&P you can have it. It was on the bike for 4 or 5 months before I removed it and is not scuffed or marked.

  3. Hi Coman, yeah that's the boy.

Mine have def got paint of some kind on them because I was able to polish through the brushed coating to the aluminum base with just T Cut.

It looks like they are aluminium, painted silver but that coating is brushed to make it look like a proper brushed aluminium finish...

It'd be a shame to take a full silencer from you for just one cover really but thankyou for the kind offer :)

  4. Those covers are removable so I could take one or both off to post if needed.

  5. I took my cover off and dipped it to look like carbon fibre, plus painted the two exhaust bits gloss black to match the belly pan.

Then I simply put a Leo Vince end can on.
