  1. I sympathise @El Toro

Up here in Jockland mail has been reduced to a snails pace, except for Mrs Jock who still seems to get all the Charity begging letters as usual.

I'm waiting for micrometers and telescope gauges and it's doin ma heed in

  2. And it's not just the mail. Delivery companies are taking ages as well. Hermes are the worst.
I was expecting a delivery of beer a couple of weeks ago. Dispatched on the Friday it should have been with me the following Saturday but on the Friday night their tracking site said it had been returned to the sender at my request! I had had no contact with Hermes at all. I immediately emailed the seller to ask what the hell was going on. They didn't know either. By the following Tuesday they had found out that Hermes had returned it because it was "damaged in transit". They didn't tell me and they didn't tell the sender and by that time the offer was out of stock. At least I got a refund but no beer :(

  3. Ordered from Homebase with 10 day delivery on 9/4. On 19/4 received an email from Homebase that they needed to know that day if I wanted a refund, to collect from my local store or await courier delivery on an unspecified date. Selected store collection on the following Thursday. On the Wednesday evening I get a further email stating not to attend at the store as DHL are delivering it on the Thursday. Thursday afternoon DHL attend and social distance deliver my goods. They leave, I find that the goods have been damaged and cannot be used. I then find that Homebase have disconnected their phone lines and will only accept emails. Email duly sent that same day and to date no reply.

I have been helping out with some ECU problems. Have used Royal Mail 1st class signed for and they have achieved next day delivery.

  4. Hermes are the shittest of the lot.

  5. Just had the same problem with some nice new heavy duty 50mm ratchet straps, left at the premises by the courier, signed by him with photograph taken, but no item received...tossers.:punch:

  6. Think it depends on your area and local delivery driver in some ways. I find Hermes spot on and Royal Mail, DPD, FedEx/TNT less so.

If they're busy when they load up they'll make a decision on what they can get done and try and keep everything to be delivered close to each other. If you're in an outlying area it'll be left at a depot for another day.

Everything we've ordered from this household has come spot on but I only live 1 mile from Hermes local driver and the towns main PO distribution.

  7. Totally off topic , but I've been meaning to ask someone for ages ....

How do you get another member's name to come up in red like that ,
    with the @ sign ?

Does that send a notification to them that they've been tagged ?

  8. Type @ and start typing their name a pop up will appear.

You get a notification you have been tagged.
