Italia Moto ?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by yellowducmaniac, Apr 30, 2020.

  1. Drove past Italia in Lincoln this morning and instead of seeing the usual array of red Ducati's in the glass fronted showroom it was empty...the other end of the showroom appeared to still contain Bikes though, there were white notices plastered on the glass but they were too far away to read and then the lights had changed and i was gone, had a look on their website which says like others they have closed temporarily for the duration of this current shit, not sure why they have moved all the Dukes though?.

  2. They lost/gave up (dunno which) the Ducati franchise earlier this year.

  3. i know , but there were 20 or so Ducati's there a coupla weeks ago that arent there now, and their website states that they are now an independant Ducati Dealership...just wondered whats happened to all the bikes, most of them were used so i assume they havent had to return stock to Ducati UK?

  4. Security reasons comes to mind here, and probably the notices could be social distancing.

  5. Yeah it did cross my mind about them leaving all that Expensive Italian exotica on show when there's nobody in the place ...

  6. No doubt maybe very keen readers on here watching the Motorapido thread a few weeks back when they'd a break in.

  7. Maybe an insurance stipulation ..... left unattended for prolonged period ?
I'm just guessing ... probably stuffed into some bloke's house ....

Last year I came off the motorway because of jams , and ended up
in an unknown village in the Midlands that had a small car showroom ,
with half a dozen McLarens in it ( or more )
.... and the place just looked dusty and semi-abandoned .... odd !

You have to wonder don't you ?

  8. They sell stuff on behalf of people to for a commission, so they have probably been returned to owners and expect the others have been locked up out of sight.

  9. I haven't heard anything untoward. I spoke with Phil a week or so back and they're just on lockdown. Makes sense not to have stuff in the windows and I noticed they were having some work done internally and externally too, so perhaps taking the chance while closed to spruce up a bit. :)

  10. i do know that some of the 'classic' ducatis were being sold by them on behalf of some private individuals; maybe they wanted them back??

sorry we posted same thing same time :)
