First Five Bikes

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by mike willis, Apr 17, 2020.

  1. Cut teeth on as per initial post:
250 Velo. Bro's 2nd bike while he was at work on his 1st, a 500 Velo. Rode both around the village often but the 250 mainly. Aged 13-14 at the time
    My First five:
Ariel Leader 250 New, passed test on it on 18th birthday.
    Honda CB72 250 New
BSA ZB34GS 500 swap for R/C Model Plane (unmade) with engine/2CH radio.
    Honda FT500 2nd hand
    Honda 400/4 2nd hand
    Edit corrects typo.

Puch, when I turned 16. The shitty uncool green one but it still got me on the road.

Cool until I T-boned a Granada driven by an illegal immigrant that had jumped a red light.

  9. I'm the same, but had to sell to put a few more ££££££ to them and move up the food chain.

I've never sold a bike for anything other than another bike, apart from my 1st deposit on a house. :)

  10. Same Rob,
Had to sell to move up the chain. It’s only the last few years I’ve been able to hang on to bikes and start to build a small collection.
As always I’ve a list of bikes I want that’s as long as my arm.

  11. Me too. :)
