Ducati Ss Cafe Racer

Have a wade thru the SS forum, as I think it was a build done fairly recently

 

I like it, but don't recognise it.

I am thinking about a cafe racer build myself and was browsing the forums for ideas and just saw this request. Try putting this into your search engine:

I had trouble viewing the pictures initially as they are uploaded using Photobucket and are blocked, but if you use Google Chrome there is a work around that allows you to see them.

 

Anyone got a link to 900SS cafe racer conversions or builds? I'd love to know where the seat unit in this build came from etc

I think the black and yellow combo works well for 900 SS customs

I do like this style of bike, however the SS frame doesn't lend itself to the flat level back end due to the kink in the frame, it looks much better when the seat follows this line. I really like the black one, that's a stunning looking bike.

 

It's the awful samey fairing I don't like on the cafe racers..........they just don't look right on a narrow bike.

Well, I suppose there is a fair amount of material in it according to the specs:

• Width at front: 5.75'
• Width at tail: 11
• Seating area length: 10.5'
• Total length: 23.5'
• Tall at tail: 6'

 

how about a seat / tail unit from a 500 sport

 

That EBay custom is a mess, lines all over the place, the tank & seat just perched on top, fairing looking disconnected. The white Union bike has a very similar fairing but here it just works. Near standard fuel tank and a seat that just flows. A brilliant coherent whole. Fantastic looking machine that I've lusted after for ages - and the high pipe version is even better!

 

Frame needs cut for those tails though, shame

See #14 above. Seat was a one off design by Union Motorcycles (as seen in your link). IIRC it was designed in conjunction with GFTP - who are now the sole suppliers. SOme cracking customs on that link
