Advice On The Birds And The Bees Pls..

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by NOODS X, May 24, 2020.

  1. Hi All..

Many will already realise, I’m a born worrier..

I was thinking last night under my West Ham duvet over a really important matter regarding human nature and the birds and them bees..

There’s people on here who far wiser than me might be able to answer my Q... if not there will be plenty who will make one up..

When I was 18 I had a big bike accident, my RD250 met with a car that had pulled out of a side road and then stopped completely blocking the road.. I ended up in Colchester Hospital for many weeks with serious pelvic injuries in the main..

My Q that I’m worrying over and honestly really interested to try to find some plausible answer too is..

If I hadn’t of survived the accident I would not have later gone on to have two wonderful kids obviously ..

So would my kids never have been born? Eg by another partner for my wife.. your probably thinking what’s he banging on about..

Bare with... I’m trying to understand what chooses us to be who we currently are?

if my Parents had not United I would not be, so in essence what stops us being born again as someone else when we’ve expired..

What decides it’s our time to be born?

sensible explanations would be most helpful in trying to let me sleep a bit tonight ...

I hope someone understands what I’m trying to ask/say....

    TY

    X

  2. I would like to have the answers...questions that I believe many have asked and will do so in the future.
I believe our existence is a product of a series of circumstances and it is what it is; all we can do is live our lives in such a way as to positively influence the lives of those around us, as well as our own.

  3. I think noods what you are trying to answer is a retro Schrödinger's cat, and you will never get an answer because you can't change your past.

What you can be sure of is what is in front of you offers you more control if you want/can manage it. Personally I've always felt we are born when we were supposed to be, will die when we are supposed to, but everything in the middle is down to you

  5. ‘Unstable and undetachable from surrounding experiences as they are, they can neither be delineated nor recollected. They belong to the category of essentially actual experiences, that is, they exist merely in the actuality of being experienced and cannot be grasped by a reflective attitude.’

  7. Its just random. All of us were lucky to be born, one sperm out of 100 - 200 million everytime. So make the most of your time and do as much good as you can.

  8. One of the Bhudda's many sayings...

"...Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment... "

You're not the first to consider such matters Noods :) and you won't be the last....

  9. There's no provable afterlife. In the same way, there's no provable 'before life'. If a different egg and sperm had germinated, you wouldn't be you - you'd be someone else. There's no god because of Eric the god eating penguin (Google him).

  13. Re occurring dreams, could that be associated to an earlier life?

And I’m not talking about the one I get over and over again of me lifting the Champions league Trophy as Captain of West Ham.... :)X

  15. We Are Stardust—Literally.

In this infrared image, stellar winds from a giant star cause interstellar dust to form ripples. There's a whole lot of dust—which contains oxygen, carbon, iron, nickel, and all the other elements—out there, and eventually some of it finds its way into our bodies.

  16. I tried to use a Greek Proverb to sum up the second part of Standford's post - I clearly failed.

  17. Ah but your saying what I’m thinking there, if a different sperm and egg had germinated I wouldn’t be me, I’d be someone else instead... X
