Is anyone else having issues accessing the forum today? Was OK first thing this morning but later and now it's just gone bonkers. I'm trying to work out if it's just me and my internet connection or what? I don't think it's my internet connection as I can get other websites but every now and then rather than a new page load on here it's just a white screen. Just curious and trying to dismiss certain things.
Mine has been OK... but I did get a white screen earlier. Although, I can't be sure that I was in the forum at that precise time. I know that I did have had internet issues but that was caused by EE (my provider), or BT (whose lines they use). But it was all local to me. I'm tempted to switch to BT as when my internet connection goes down, it is BT's fault and they can't blame anyone else - although they will try, almost certainly!
No problems when viewing the forum not signed in, as soon as I sign it, the forum machinery recognises my ip and thats where the problems start. Same issues on different computers here and phone. A mixture of site messages from this morning saying there is a security issue, to three messages on the board saying there saying there is a java error in the control panel. I know the shiny buttons in the backroom are admin level only, are we sure given the security message this morning that only one person has access to those facilities?
I dont think that is funny! The OP is having trouble logging on and all you are doing is taking the piss out of him...... Does it not work both ways?
No probs here It often helps to clear your browser cache with this type of problem Depending on what flavour of browser you use .... look for "clear recent history" , or something similar then reload the page . If that doesn't work , try doing the same again , but closing and re-opening the browser
Hmmm, all ok now here, had to turn the main router/wifi base station on & off a couple of times but that seems to have cleared it and it’s all ok so far. It must have just got its knickers in a twist, or got something stuck in them . AndyB, Chris, no offence taken by me with Chris’s post above, I took it in a jocular manner Cheers fellas.
Very true, sorts 99% of problems. I’d done it on the laptop and cleared caches, just forgot to do it with the router
I've no issues here, I use Safari as my browser. It might be specific to the browser you're using? I often when problems arise with most things shouting and swearing at the offending object helps, not with the problem but just in general. Unless in public obvs as you may get arrested. as a caveat I'm not IT savvy, like some I even have trouble switching a computer on at the mains let alone the on/off button. HTH
My goodness Andy are you really going to go here? You don’t have to think it was funny, it wasn’t meant for you. The differences between my attempt at humour on here and yours on the “Torque” thread are that I already know West Cork Paul, and I’ve got to learn the sort of things that make him laugh to some degree, and I think he’s probably posted to that effect below my post. You pounced on a new member, not knowing how he would react but decided to do it anyway, plus I think there were already signs that he wasn’t taking kindly to being picked up on his spelling when all he wanted was some help. Can’t you see the difference? If I had any indication that Paul didn’t like that kind of post then I would never have posted it.
ah well, so you’re happy to clutter up Paul’s thread even further then Andy? Yes, happy with pounced it’s the right word for me “suddenly and without warning “ describes your actions well, old habits and all that.
