    Thanks

  2. Does it need to engage a gear and move to clear the lights?

  4. Seized flappy valve the culprit ? Andy

  5. An "Engine" error indication narrows the problem down to nearly a dozen and a half possibilities. Does the bike start? If the bike starts, is the throttle inhibited? Are there any other dash indications which seem to be amiss? Diagnostic software (MelcoDiag) can prove invaluable at moments like this. Without it, you'll likely have to visit a service facility to have the DTC's read.

  6. As above, Mike Dawson should be able to diagnose the problem, not the cheapest but defo knows his stuff

  7. I’m thrown by the red light, that’s oil isn’t it and stays on until started?

  8. I'm assuming that the "Engine!"error flag is displayed in a large rectangular box for several seconds as the bike is keyed "ON," and then minimizes and shifts to the left of the dash pad. The CEL/EOBD (engine icon) indication should illuminate and accompany this error. If the problem is intermittent, the "Engine!" error flag and EOBD indications will clear automatically should the problem clear. However, intermittent or not, the DTC generated as a result of the error will have been captured and remain in the system. Diagnostic software can be used to read and clear the stored fault.

  9. Yes. And these are prone to fail. They work off a diaphragm switch and the diaphragm can bust creating a small oil leak and the red light.

I always carried a spare to track days. About £25 iirc.

  10. As there seems to be some uncertainty as to exactly what indications are displayed on the dash, it would greatly benefit responding members if the thread starter would join in and clarify.
