My Hypermotard 950 Sp Rearset + Gp Shift Alternative

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by dynastyss, Jun 3, 2020.

  1. I have always installed rearsets on all my bikes because the majority of what I have owned is track-only. Historically I am a Woodcraft guy. Alas, they don't have a model and the only reasonable rearsets I could find were $800+ shipped. Seems a bit too much so I was resigned to mis-shifting.

First I got sick of the slick pegs and replaced them with grippy ducabike pegs. Then I found out you can replace the shift lever and even reverse it to GP for about $150.

So now I am about $250 in and feel much better about my setup. I can do the brake lever but honestly I haven't touched a rear brake in years, so if I do it in the future it will only be for aesthetics.

  2. Looking good. Is that the eccentric pin? I've seen more and more people getting these levers. They seems pretty good. I'm particularly concerned with breaking those levers in case of lowside/dropping my bike. So I'm considering replacing both levers with the foldable pin. Anyway, were you supposed to use the top hole for the quickshifter?

  4. Hi, the Ducabike gear lever is a smart fix. I was wondering if you could confirm by how much
the new lever with the eccentric toepeg can shorten the distance from foot peg to toe peg, compared to the standard set-up.
I don't have small feet but always feel my foots natural position on the footpeg leaves the toepeg too far away and almost under the end of my toe, rather than where I want to feel it, more toward the base of my big toe. A guess is I would like the toe peg to be around 20mm closer to the footpeg to give me the right feel ?
