  7. My youngest lad went to school with her great grandson, and a few years ago spent the afternoon at her house with her a couple of times when she invited groups of the CCF over for afternoon tea.

He'll be upset when he finds out, as he really enjoyed the visits and listening to her stories.

    Nasher.

  8. Thank you Vera, RIP

  9. @El Toro, a candidate for merging with the already up to date, Pete’s thread ‘Vera Lynn’. Andy

  10. Saw her perform back in the 60s, outdoors at Woburn Abbey. As a teenager you'd think I would have been less than impressed, but turned out to be one of the most pleasantly memorable 'Gigs' I've been to. RIP Vera. Give my Dad a hug

  11. Threads merged

  12. Post #001 is now very confusing as it states she is still alive

  13. Good job the title of the thread spells it out then.

  15. It states, correctly, that she was alive as at three years ago. This could be confusing to anyone who is unfamiliar with the concept of dates.

  16. Your first post could do with an edit - also it has 9 likes so far which is hardly apt for the new thread title and the situation...

  17. Guess we won’t be meeting again then...

  18. Poor form, @Exige not starting a new thread for Dame Vera's passing.

You really ought to have started a new thread rather than tacking on an obituary post into a celebration of someone's life.

What kind of person does this? *angryface*
