Best boots I have ever had in 40 years of riding. I have Roadstars , yes they might cost a bit more than others BUT they will last so much longer than others , so it’s an expensive initial outlay that turns into a very sound and cheaper investment.
Thanks for all the replies, you've all convinced and confirmed what I'd suspected. Great boots So I've just placed an order through These.
Bit late to bring it up but you do know Daytona come in 3 different width fittings ? Normal, wide and extra wide. I have large feet and found the wide fitting more comfortable. Andy
yes to everything. It's a brand I always buy & get the daytona special leather polish also. If you are an IAM member you get 15% off at bikestop (don't know how you'd do this online as you need to show valid card at counter). They also do discount on everything including Rukka gear' Great family business & little social cafe downstairs. Personally I prefer the Strive GTX
Top boots. had mine for years, waterproof comfortable, breathable with non power ranger twatage going on, like proper boots.
Yes,cheers. I did see that in the adverts but strangely couldn't see an option to choose one of the widths before placing the order. However, have emailed the seller and he has confirmed a wide fitting.
I had a standard pair and they did pinch my feet after a long day, the wide fitting ones were perfect. I wore the leather by the gear change pad but repaired them with some Sugru (mouldable rubber, brilliant stuff)
Can’t make out if it’s a British supplier or not but if it is and it’s in stock with them you could have got an extra 10% with Motolegends.
Sorry to but in on the conversation, mine have lost the rubber gear pad.......!!! was going to have some leather stitched on by a good cobbler and repairer of leathers in Garforth near Leeds, he did say could be done but would likely ruin the waterproof / Gortex! interested in the refurb you had done, how did you arrange it and what did it cost?? cheers, don't like asking costings, it's akin to asking a lady her age or bra size in polite society!!
Boots arrived yesterday. Not used them on the bike yet, but feel very comfortable walking round the house. Quick question.... I tried a pair on in a shop, not sure if they were the same ones, but recall they had a stiff inner boot, but were still comfortable. I presumed these Roadstar GTX would come with the stiff (more protection ) inner boot.
IIRC, the Daytona boot range with the inner boot is their race boot line. I’ve not seen a touring boot with an inner boot. Andy
You need to find a Daytona authorised stockist who is prepared to send the boots back to Germany, not all stockists will. IIR, it can take about 4 weeks. Andy
I had the rubber gear pad on the left boot replaced by Daytona . Dealer( Infinity) sent it back to Germany. it cost £60. At my request they fitted an oversized pad which is an option and stops the pad from wearing out at the edge. A bit expensive but worth it for me as they are still lots of wear left and old boots are so comfortable.
I have 2 pairs of Voyager GTX. The first pair are about 18 years old now. I sent them back for refurbishing that were about 9 years old then a year or so later a guy on the Ducati UpNorth forum advertised a pair, same size and worn once for about half price. I continued using the old ones for another 5 years or so but the the right one started to leak at the heel. Still not bad for near 15 years old. The gear pedal pad on the old boot was stitched on, presumably before the boots were sown together. When they were refurbished the replacement pads were glued on, as are the ones on the new boots. I've found that the stuck on pads tend to come away at the rear inboard upper corner where the gear pead catches it. I tried various glues with no lasting success to stick the corner down until I tried a hot glue gun. Success, the hot glue has done the trick so far. I'll happily buy another pair of Daytonas. They are superbly comfortable and waterproof. I suspect the failure I experienced was largely my own blame. I had a habit of pushing the heel down with my other foot to slip the boot off after undoing the zip.
