Guys hope this helps if interested the throttle play I don't like so there's an item on ebay that's available for around £25 yes that's not much I admit but did it myself for the price of a cable tie red obviously! Lol take the housing apart with a Philips head and the other bit you need has a 3 blade head see all pics below, there's a small plate at the rear which is used to hold the cable in place and close off the rear when inside you'll see the 2 x lugs that link the throttle twist they are different sizes, you are looking to fill the gaps evenly so this is where the cable tie comes in cut 2 pieces your happy with don't worry if a little you cab trim with a sharp blade when in place use a small grips and apply some heat to make a similar V shape and then slot under the lugs and trim with blade if needed add some more ir grease and all done no more play cheap mod for 30 mins work good luck see pics
The play on my 1199R is ridiculous when you consider no throttle to full throttle is no more than 25% turn.
I did the same thing to the twistgrip on my Supersport with heat shrink tubing. I posted it on the forum at the and a few people poo-pooed the idea but it's been there for 10,000 miles now with no issues.
It makes no difference to me what people think as long as your happy it's all that matters I'm not against ducati parts but this is a school boy mod that works and you can't even see it bingo
Dude!!!! Seriously ?? Have you thought about the implications if it decide to exit into the housing?? The proper install using the recommended spacers have no way to escape as they fit over the top of the lug all the way round!.... Rather you then me
Here we go again! The heat shrink I used fits all the way round just like the £25 bits of plastic and can't fall off for the same reasons.
Cheers Dave, I think the guys who doubt it think it's just 4 small separate pieces of cable tie but in fact I used 2 pieces that go between the lugs and underneath so it looks like a V shape but flat at the bottom the fit is really snug if that makes sense, it really was a simple fix.
Had the Jetprime throttle unit on a 1299, haven’t had much to compare with, but it was the most sensitive and responsive throttle I’ve ever had my right hand on. Really good feeling. The play in the standard unit is horrible, Ducati should be able to do better for the price of these bikes honestly. Thanks for this thread! gonna try this mod on the stocker and see how it matches up to the JP
