Stamp Duty - Potential Good News

  1. We need to remember it’s not government money it’s tax payers money. That’s me and you. They’re giving our money away, yet they’ll then tax us more in the future to retrieve the money we gave them in the first place!

  2. This looks like Barley Sugar to me .... a little something that's sweet to suck on , to distract a person
from the state of suffering they may currently be in .

The true costs of this crisis situation will be repaid for decades to come , and maybe for generations to come
.... and guess who's getting the bill
..... the next few budgets should be " interesting " , to say the least .

But just my two khoums worth .....:)

  6. Slap me awake, £3,000 x millions aka 3-billion is been given to a variety of buildings to leach more tax payer funds. Into the pockets of the rich, another fantastic idea from the wealthy too the wealthy.

Homeowners will be given vouchers to pay for insulation and double glazing as part of a multibillion-pound job-creation drive in the wake of the Covid-19 recession

  7. Well, according to the papers this morning the stamp duty holiday for purchases up to £500k will start tomorrow as opposed to in October as was apparently proposed. Not over until it's officially announced but I'm more than happy with that.

Don't like the last bit so much but that would just take me back to where I was.

I'm not a reader of the Mail generally but that quote from the IFS has to be genuine. In stating the source, albeit opinion, they'd be foolish to just make it up.

  9. Well Sunak has got his tugging way on the Freelance/ Contracting market and IR35 will be here in April 2021, by screwing the economy and about 5million people along the way. So I suppose as is the norm nowadays, they taketh on 1 hand and give with the other. Yes Prime Minister has been re-written all over again, without being allowed to be broadcasted .!.

Here is an example of an article :-
