  1. Hey everyone,

I accidentally bought a Hyper 950SP the other day, so the 1198S has to go. It's on 12,950 miles but has just had a belts/valves service, a new clutch/clutch basket and nose fairing at Pro Twins. It's actually still there – so these pics are from May. The old nose fairing had a little crack in it. I've owned it for two years – it was a bit of a panic buy when I was bikeless but had an impending first child. I bought it for one last European tour!

It has slash-cut Termi slip-ons and is pretty tidy apart from a tiny missing bit of bodywork between the taillights. It is 11 years old so has a few marks commensurate with its age.

I'm in Dorking, Surrey and am open to reasonable offers – it's a great bike and it's ready for its new owner to park next to as many bins as they like.

More pics are on the eBay ad here (note the £200 forumite discount!) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133462994447

  3. Oh did I say accident? I meant 'after approximately 12 months of changing my mind daily between a Superduke and Tuono… I decided to stay with Ducati'

  4. Just looked at your eBay listing, looks nice, as DL said, should sell quickly.

Just one thing - "something a bit more upright in my old age"... Your avatar says you're 34!!!!!

  5. 34 with a hyperactive 18 month-old who loves a scream… I feel about 64!

The reality is I don't get out for much more than an hour, which means I'm limited to the 40 and 50 limit tiny country roads near my house and the 1198 just feels too much for those sorts of roads! Plus I want a bike that I can thrash a little bit more, and just fancied a change really.

  6. Only joking! I've got an 1198S as well (and by coincidence I didn't get the baffles for the Termis either!) and it's not ideal for country lanes with potholes. And you're right, it's a bit much for the road TBH. I reckon your last few words sum it up though...

  7. TRACK DAYS!

My wife prefers me pissing off all day a handful of times a year (although it is escerlating nicely) than every weekend for a few hours. And it's safer than the road. And you get to give the 1198 full beans. And you need a road bike AND a track bike.

    Just my opinion.
