Does anyone have either a standard eeprom I could borrow , or a termi type I could borrow or buy Want to try it for a stalling problem I've not got to the bottom of it yet Bought a fuel pump to try ,fitted it and it's faulty so I've had to put the original one back in,although I have my doubts it's the pump . Will pay for postage etc Regards Matt
only r /rs models have the ecu different (P8 ecu)... little different the type b1 or a1 yaw 1.6 MM but still always same eprom (998 has different ecu without eprom) check this https://www.ebay.it/itm/Ducati-916-...144050?hash=item28965990f2:g:UhoAAOSw63Re64jA
916 Strada,916/996SPS and 916SP/916SPA (actually 955cc) all came with the P8 ECU. 916 Bip's and 996 Bips came with the 1.6M ECU, but the 916's only had single injectors per cylinder and the 996's had duel injectors per cylinder that both fired together. So only a chip intended for a 916 Bip' will work in that model. Steve R
Do you mean 2/single injectors (ONLY 1 Injector) per cylinder or 2/twin injectors per cylinder? It will make a BIG difference... A standard 916 fitted with a 1.6M 916 Bip only runs single injectors per cylinder. Steve R
In that case you need a chip (to try) intended for a 916 Bip, this won't be that far off even if you're running a free flowing filter and straight through cans of either 45 or 50mm bore. An easy way out of your stalling problem would be to increase your tick over speed, this should point out if there's a bigger problem if it doesn't sort it out. I ran my 851/916cc mildly tuned motor (128 rwbhp) with a tick over speed of 1,500rpm. My 851/955cc runs a tick over of just over 1,700rpm, but it's in a fairly high state of tune. In fact I doubt that it would ever tick over if it were any more highly strung. Steve R
It's slightly different to stalling ,it idles perfectly, but if you increase the revs to 2k it will cut out,or if you rev and let the revs drop it cuts out ,will restart and idle fine ,at 3k or above it's also ok .it is almost ok when it's really warm but takes ages to do so.Ive tried a spare set of throttle bodies and tps/injectors and set the TPS voltage ,checked charging voltage ok So it's just ruling things out,a complete ecu with eeprom would be really handy if not just the chip .I did try heating the ecu with a hairdryer but no change in symptoms. Someone said trade it ,as I was planning on getting a Monster or a hyperstrada ,and ride it there so it's warm and will be fine when they see it .But I can't do that with a clear conscience tbh
