The Inters/advanced Group Conundrum

Discussion in 'Trackdays & Rider Skills' started by Grayrobs, Jul 13, 2020.

  1. To slightly alter a title of a previous thread, I am curious as to other peoples opinion on this one. As an inters group rider, can I expect ,on a track evening where there is only the novice group as the other choice, to be out with other similar level riders? I only ask as tonight at Snetteton I had the pleasure(?) to be buzzed by Lee Jackson, Joe Talbot and various other sponsored up bikes and riders, to the point where I was convinced I had wandered un be known to me into an ACU license test evening...

Fuck they are fast, which is only to be assumed, but being passed inside and out side simultaneously by 6 bikes, does give one the willies a little bit.

Should I man up as there is the word 'fast' in the group description or should I expect a TRACK evening not to include professional riders.

I'm not so much pissed off, as I spent 15 years riding regional level motocross and have given and received many a close pass, but more surprised as the original idea of a track day/evening seems to have morphed into a ACU test session. I would like to think no one was timing either as its not allowed, but I'm not that naive

  2. Sounds a bit naughty of the organisers to allow that to happen.

  3. Well to be honest, that's what I thought. It wasn't as if it was a couple of quick local clubbies. The problem is one particular TD company makes a big thing on social media about Pro riders on their Trackdays.

Things have really changed since I started track days 10 years ago.

  4. Wrong! Unfortunately it’s all about the dollar!

  5. So you booked the inters / fast group and surprised there were fast riders out there? Plenty of non racing riders at Lee Jacksons speed all over the country.
