Probably been asked many times before but I'm not the best with searching forums, anyway, looking to get rid of the old coolant I drained out of the bike but as we have a septic tank I'm not too keen on tipping it down the drain (life was so much easier in the 80's before someone invented the environment). I've searched the local household recycling site and they don't really mention it (probably hazardous waste and they won't take it). Do I disguise it as old engine oil and tip it into that big old engine oil tank, or leave it in an old engine oil container and place it close to the old engine oil tank and scurry away without being spotted by the guy with the dodgy leg? I don't think it will burn being diluted with water at 50% so that's out (usual disposal method of difficult things - like old tyres - outside of suburbia) and bonfire night isn't for ages anyway. Assistance gratefully received
I have a big washing up bowl i use for oil servicing and i just put coolant brake fluid etc into that then pour it all into old oil containers and take it to the recycle depot near me, been doing it for years, seems to work
Don’t know Is the answer, tried contacting the local council for guidance. Absolutely bloody useless, mix it in with engine oil and dispose of at the local tip.
Take it to a track day, they have big disposal containers there! I get rid of all my oil, coolant etc that way!
That would be perfect, just a bit of a hike to knockhill for 2 1/2 litres of coolant weedkiller is sounding good
I have been putting mine in the wife's wine for years. True she does now have two heads and never needs a jacket ...but aside from that no issues
