765rs = Whats The Difference?

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by bradders, Jul 22, 2020.

  1. Done nearly 6k miles on my 765RS, faultless so far . I prefer the dash on my 17 model to the lateset 20 version . It's a great rode bike, almost too good, if that makes sense?

  2. I know what you mean mate and on track that'd be fun but on the road it used to lick me out. Costantly pushing for the top, it wasn't as bad as like Gixer 6 or R6 on road pain in the arse revving, but was a labour.

  3. Was yours a 675? I find the (my) gen 1 765 RS is ok even low down but it howls over 8k. Having said that, the gen 1 765R has more mid range than the RS.

  4. Yeah sorry monged it. First striple was a 675 mate.
    Did ride a gen 1 765 but was all tooled up for track in daytona form with the rapid bike shmike stuff on it so can't really compare to stock.

  5. I for one can’t wait to hear what you think when you get yours out on the track. Got any more pics for your build thread yet? Must be nearly ready now?

  6. Me too mate. Next Friday at Mallory is gonna be mega.
    I got 1 photo sent today but I think he took the photo with a brick. Just waiting for the HEL lines to rock up and be fitted then it's sorted.
    I'll take some pics when I pick her up Friday.

  7. you’d like the new fireblade then!

  8. I think you are probably right there, apart from one very important and indisputable fact.

    It’s

    A

    HONDA :skull::eek::D

  9. And the money is a joke. Show me a man that will take 25k out of his savings, walk past a V4S, throw it at the blade and I'll show you a nutcase.

  10. Yeah. You are probably right but I expect they will offer some nice inducements and, joking aside, it does sound like a proper weapon for the track. Way, way above my capabilities that’s for sure.

  11. It's a hard one to justify for sure. Honda are extremely bold with their pricing.

    I genuinely think it's probably going to be a 'better' track machine though :dizzy:

    But GT3's are better on track than a Veyron, but the Veyron is still more expensive. It's only part of the picture isn't it.

  12. Me and my racing friends (ooooo friends) think it'll be a monster for the Pro's - hugely capable. My issue with the new blade (having not ridden one) is firstly the price and secondly the way it makes its power....

    Having basically all of your power up top is only really usable for top tear racers.. I have suspicions it'll be a difficult bugger for the masses and a bit 'sixhundredy' for it's gearing sensitivity.

    I may well be wrong though. And being a honda it'll probably be the best handling bike on the market.

  13. Maybe it’s just making sure they make and sell enough to satisfy the rules rather than expect it to be a big seller

  14. Yeah I see what you mean. But there's that Italian Jizzery factor in comparison that you don't get for the same money.
    This is the thing, the Veyron is more expensive, not the same price as the GT3.
    If the blade was about 3-4k cheap I'd be like yeah fair one.

    I'm sure people that know what there doing will be able to do great things with it on track but ask your self honestly do you reckon Iddon and Brookes will be looking over their shoulders on the grid thinking "ooo that looks nice, wish I was on that instead".
    Doubt it mate.

  15. I took the 765 out last year and loved it. Pal was on a 1198s and said he was gunning to keep up with it on the bends as it handles so well. Did find you are ragging it constantly to get the best from it but it was nice to ride something that had to be worked a little harder.
    Dash,suspension, fit and finish are all first class. I couldn’t fault it - lovely toy.
