A bit of an ominous sight, and a sign of things to come: – these replaced a conventional Gatso on a B Road recently. All traffic cameras have the ability to be converted to this, and feel sure it’s a case of when rather than if.

  8. I might add that here in Bristol, pretty well all speed cameras have, or were, should i say been unmanaged - the ones that i frequent anyway (the tell tale sign being that if the road has been resurfaced the lines have not been added and, where they have worn away theyve not been repainted.....until this last couple of weeks....all the ones bar one have got fresh paint now....i would say half a dozen have been repainted....which tells me - its a cash cow....the gov needs money in the middle of covid and thats an easy way to get it...

Which in turn says that these new cameras while now might be used for speeding itll get ramped up as the coffers dry out....we the tax payer will be paying for covid for the next 15 to 20 at least....
