Has anyone got a carbon fibre exhaust heat shield they wish to sell please? It's known as the Type 3 one, must be 130mm hole centre to centre. TIA
Here you go Paul,?..just check the centres.! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ducati-9...rentrq:b420b3e41730a4d6b157e909ffd43edd|iid:1
Thanks. I was just seeing if anyone on here had one, I'd feel better buying off here than a randomer off eBay. I'm now going to recount a sorry story I bought exactly what I now need off another member on here perhaps a year ago. Bought for my 748, which has Termis, in my naivety I thought they'd all be standard - not the case. It wouldn't fit. I stuck it on the shelf. Had a tidy up a few months ago, decided it was no good for me so stuck it on eBay. I only had 2 bidders . Ended up going for £20, less than I'd paid for it . It's really light, I checked the postage, a fiver due to the weight, anywhere in the EU. The buyer pays me 20 + 5. I get to the post office "Sorry pal, that'll be €13 for postage" "WTF, it says €5 on line" "Oh no, that's for letters, this is a package" "But it's within the dimensions and weight for letters" "No, it's a package, now do you want to post it or not?" "Oh FFS" I get the 998S, it's got 45mm Termis on, should be 50mm. I buy some 50mm ones, fit them, go to fit the CF exhaust shield I've taken off the 45mm ones - WTAF!!. The holes don't line up. Why the f**k does the manufacturer make their exhausts, for the same range of bikes, with 3 different exhaust heat shield fixing points? Moral of the tale - never sell anything
That made me laugh as i've been there and done that move once or twice in my life, like most of us on here if we don't throw it out at sometime we become hoarders.next time try a jiffa bag & that way you've transit protection and the cost might be lower as it will go through the postoffice sample slot.
