1199 Gear Sensor....

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by stelios, Jul 29, 2020.

  1. Hello..I have a panigale 1199 2013 and a for week now the indicator lights gear sensor at show me at panel-... as soon as the temperature reaches 53 degrees Celsius it works normally showing the option gear ... it is repaired or wants change..is there a problem if I release it?

  2. Very common fault on Panigale. It'll need to be reset at dealer or a indipendent who has the correct software but most likely to be faulty sensor. I have read on here that some owners just replaced the sensor without resetting them but I wasn't so lucky with mine. Not a mega job to change the sensor so maybe worth first.

  3. I had this issue in May, check for my previous post then as there was quite a discussion about it. I was able to replace the sensor and it worked without any programming as @Mongoose suggested.

  4. can do it with Melco or not?....the new version have a reset gear sensor

  5. Maybe,on mine it doesnt work. But i know that it did work on another guy's 1199 so give it a shoot.

  6. with melco is not reset....is not show me ''-''or ''c''...and not show me error with melco...why?..have problem a sensor or something other??

  7. is not reset with Melco...i try and not show me ''C''......

  8. Check the MelcoDiag version. Version 1.0.6.5 includes a functional "Gear Reset" button under the "Resets" tab. Version 1.0.6.4 included the button as well, but it was nonfunctional.

  9. i have the Version 1.0.6.5 ...i don't now why not work..i start the engine and the degrees is up to 85 C and letter i try but nothing...

  10. I can't understand the problem either. With MelcoDiag open and your ignition switch keyed to the "ON" position, if you hover over the "Gear Reset" button with your mouse, does the button highlight? ...it should... and if it does and you proceed to click on the button, the flashing "C" should appear almost immediately in the dash pad's gear window and will flash in sync with the green neutral "N" indication on the dash. At that point you can begin the procedure. I can confirm that it works perfectly on my 2012. If the button highlights, but clicking on it yields no results, you might consider contacting JP to see if he might offer any suggestions. It's also possible that some model years might respond to a given command while others don't... so if you have a model year different than mine and the bike fails to respond to the command, naturally you should bring that information to his attention so that he might look into it.

  11. i don't what happend my friend...i try again.....anyway...thank you very much....;):upyeah:

  12. Recently had the gear sensor fail on my V4S. There seems to be a temperature related issue going on. Mine would fail when the engine warmed up then default to normal upon cooling down.

Problem solved by renewing sensor and configuring via Ducati diagnostics.

  13. Yeah... the sensor, at least on the 1199, can be a bit temperamental and is definitely temperature-sensitive.

  14. @stelios have you ordered a sensor yet?

  15. no yet..i call my dealer tomorrow and wait what can i do... to go my bike and connect to original ducati program and i see what can i do...
Melco--reset gear== is not work for me and i don't now why....
