Where Does One Find Footrest Bolts! Partially Threaded 16mm...

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by andrewinuk, Aug 7, 2020.

  1. Done lots of searching but struggling to find a source for a footrest bolt that is:
    M8 X 16mm or there abouts
    Low profile head
    Partially threaded
    Steel

Does anyone have a source? Footrest bolt.jpg

  2. Ducati?
Or..just get a fully threaded cap head one for pennies.

  3. Could be a special. Try Orbital Fasteners near Watford and Rickmansworth

  4. Or a cheap cap head for pennies and cut part of the head off and shape it

  11. Low profile capheads are din 6912. If those are a special I would buy a much longer bolt with a plain shank longer than the whole bolt you want. Cut it to length and thread to suit.

  12. Sorted thanks :)

Just looked at the kayfast specs and 35mm seem the way to go, just need to cut them down.
    • Fully threaded up to and including 30mm screw length.
    • Screw lengths of 35mm and over are part threaded.
    • Manufactured from A2 grade stainless steel for improved corrosion resistance.

  13. Just bear in mind that A2 stainless equates to a 5.5 grade bolt as supposed to 8.8 for standard steel or 10.9 for high tensile.
