Brembo Master Cylinder Compatibility...

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by comfysofa, Aug 11, 2020.

  1. I use this site for reference purposes .... good drawings , and all the parts are well described , along with part numbers .
It makes it quite easy to hop from model to model , and check what was fitted to other bikes
It's pretty handy if you're after used parts , but not sure if they are right for your bike .

    .... just a thought :)

  2. I should have thrown a pic up... Heres the old one...

Physically it matches - more of a piston related question...as i say i reckon it will be ok ....just wanted the verification... :)

  3. Cheers...so a ps13 would be better? (id rather upgrade if i can)...

  4. both will do the job, but I suppose the question is how often and how much do you use your rear brake. You may find that the ps13 modulates better for frequent users, especially on the later bike rear calipers, which may have bigger pistons and in so doing might feel a bit fluffy with a ps11.

  5. definately ps13....hes an ex nutcase, back on a bike after a while - so id rather him have more brake than less....!

  6. And it takes a turn....so i found a ps13 master cylinder on ebay....but looking at it - it looks identical to the one on the bike so...that might already be a ps13....gonna stop round his house later and grab the master cylinder, take it home strip it and measure...then i may as well order a maintenance kit as ive gone that far...!

  7. might be embossed on the surface if you're lucky. The bodies are identical.

  8. Well, got the master cylinder home and stripped - measure the piston/plunger and its 12mm (or thereabouts) so im totally lost now!!

  9. nah - nothing there apart from a 4 digit number (its hard to read but looks the same as the "alleged" 13mm part) although as ive just said my caliper measures 12mm.....

  10. might be worth giving you local dealer a shout as rebuild kits are available for all the rear masters and not that expensive.

  11. Already have - aprilia dont do one as a part number...think ill have to contact someone whose selling a maintenance kit and get them to measure it...

  12. Thats all thats on there from what i can see....
