Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by Leesey, Aug 8, 2020.

  1. What are people’s thought ps on this I know that full details haven’t been released yet but Colchester are taking preorders and stating the price at £9660.
I really like the look of it and I am seriously tempted to use it as my everyday bike.
below is the brochure, well three pages of pictures and word haha.

  2. Despite your obvious eagerness I’d let others buy it first let a couple of thousand others do the guinea pig work then either buy one as it’s brilliant or give it a miss until they sort all the issues out...personally love it and was a debate about it on here when it was first shown at a show.

  3. I'm in the love it camp

  4. I think its a small step in the right direction. Lighter and more powerfull to me is ideal. At 12kgs lighter and 15ponies more that a twenty year old Monster means its just not a step far enough.

  5. i think that 660rs is a cracking bike

  6. I think it looks like a cracking bike also, I love the ideas of manufacturers investing in smaller stuff again that has all the right kit on it. I am concerned about the build quality and finish of it though, at £10k you would expect it to be as well put together as something like a Street Triple RS but we will see.

There will be loads who say "but it only has this much power".. not the point at all.

  7. its a shame there not 650 as they could have raced at the TT then. super twin class.

  8. I love it.
I thought I read somewhere it was more like a cbf Honda than a mini rsv4?

  9. I imagine the bikes are night and day different despite the figures

  10. And if true 15hp and 12kg will be felt in a big way I would think add to that the modern components all over yes night and day different I reckon

  11. No doubt the bike will be technically superior. But is it £8000 better?

  12. Absolutely not in fact be not as good to many ...but be night and day ...15 hp alone is some gain on relatively low powered bikes then 12 kg off people wet themselves at 3 kg weight saving or even a lighter battery ...other thing is where is the weight saving is some on the wheels? If so that will be very telling indeed if the tales of slightly lighter wheels are to be believed

  13. If it’s right it will sell .

  14. Some people maybe.

You can buy a 748 for £3500 and imo its every bit as good as one of those, especially if you spent a few of the £6K you saved on purchase.

I'm not disparaging the bike, but at just shy of 10K I don't think it is good value.

  15. I had a deposit on a Norton super light £22k so I suppose it’s all relative.

  16. Agree...but the last brand new bike I bought was an import 954 fireblade in 2003 from Peterborough import shop type place at 7k so I defiantly think the prilla is too dear but I like it

  17. I want a bike manufactured by someone reputable, with a weight around 130kgs or less, with 100bhp or more. Ideally it won't be any longer than 2m. Money is here and waiting for the right one...

  18. how

I think I share that 2003 attitude as imho are new bikes are all too expensive nowadays.

I remember the days of my mates buying brand new +wasp bum+ GSXR 600s for 5k!

But anything under 10k seems more manageable and palatable.....

  19. It’s pricey no doubt. But sometimes you just gotta do it. All Ducati’s are pricey compared to most Japanese alternatives. My Triumph Moto2 is way overpriced and I got it second hand for a “good” price.
But, if it floats your boat, go for it is what I say. Can’t take it with you.

  20. You are right, but there will be no more big heavy bikes added to my garage.
