1200 DVT Road 5 Front Tyre Rotation

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by knightrider, Aug 11, 2020.

  1. could someone who has Michelin Road 5 take a pic of the front tyre to show me the tread pattern, I'm sure the garage has fitted it the wrong way
    Much appreciated
And yes I know it has an arrow to show the direction but I still want confirmation

  4. I don't have pilot 5s but have googled Michelin pilot 5 front and every picture of fitted tyres shows the pattern to be same as yours.

  5. The direction arrow on the tyre is correct. No question. If the garage have fitted it according to the arrow then you can't question it - no matter what anyone else has here.

  6. This ^^^^

  7. Thanks Scud and as i thought they have indeed fitted it the wrong way,
When I rang back to say I think you've fitted the tyre wrong the reply was well we fitted the same way as the old 1 came off, they fitted that 1 as well ..... Im now wondering if I've been riding for the 3k miles with the old front tyre the wrong way

  8. I kept checking mine with the rotation stamping as I wasn’t sure the tread pattern looked right. I have watched a fitter put a rear tyre wrong only to realise once he fitted the wheel.

I worry for the other folk that have fitted tyres from there......

  9. What does the rotation arrow show - right or wrong way? Have to say, a tyre place that fits it wrong imho can’t be trusted to fit anything again.

  10. It’s easy done, not all wheels are obvious when off the bike. Could it be they have fitted the whole wheel the wrong way? Tyre is correct and matches rotational arrows. (Or OP has)

  11. It was a rear from a BMW, FFS gonna have to re check mine now.

  12. I have fitted the front a few time’s the wrong way and had to take it off, especially at the track under time pressure. Back is a bit more difficult to get wrong ;)

  13. Arrow is pointing the wrong way mate, and to give them a little leeway I do take them in off the bike so they probably wouldn't know which way round it goes

  16. Rechecked and mine is correct.

  17. I always take a wheel loose as £20 to remove a wheel is something I’m not prepared to pay, although there are a lot that do pay judging by how complete bikes he has in for tyre changes.

  18. yeah I have had both a front and rear fitted recently 3 weeks ago front Friday gone for the rear. Swapped out from Road 4’s which came with the bike.

  19. I've taken loose wheels for new tyres for years. Not only does the tyre have a direction arrow, but the wheel has one too. Any decent tech should get this right. If you've gone somewhere they got it wrong then never go there again. You are getting children to do an adult's job.
