Hi all, I have a new to me 748S that I’m in the process of restoring back to former glory. The plastics are looking a bit tired and I have some scratches on the OEM mirrors. Also have a spare set of fairings. Happily the tank is in good condition. Is anyone able to recommend someone that could refinish the plastics and mirrors back to factory spec with decals please? Apologies if this has been asked before. I am located in south Lincs near Peterborough. Thanks.
Dream Machine near Nottingham. They did my 748SPS years ago (it needs doing again) and made a good job, including gold pinstriping and proper decals in the right places. They also fixed some cracks. They collect & return the parts, carefully wrapped. http://www.dream-machine.co.uk/ When I come to do it again, I might consider a transparent vinyl wrap on top. Anybody else tried that?
I used to work in the motorcycle trade and we used to use dream machine for paintwork. I have never used wrap but it could be a good alternative. My only issue is that I think bikes with all their curves are a difficult job. So the price could be a put off.
